TYPICAL SABBATH SERVICE

This is another paper that has lain on the shelf for several years.

What would a typical Sabbath service be like in the true church of God?  If we are to follow God’s instructions, examples, prototypes, it won’t be like what we’ve been used to in the Worldwide Church of God or it’s splinter groups, or any of the mainstream churches as far as I’m aware of.  If we don’t follow God’s instructions, we are just playing church anyway.  God’s word is very clear about church operations.  In the past, this word has been perverted mightily.

1 Corinthians 10:11 sets the stage.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

PASSOVER

Psalms 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

The benefits are listed through verse 18, but verse 3 contains the top two: forgiveness of sin and healing of diseases.  Forgiveness of sin—that is what Passover is all about.  What a benefit!  In the very same breath the claim is made that healing our diseases is also a major benefit.  What a blessing this is, also.  God is so concerned with our health that this major benefit is listed in second place right after forgiveness of our sins.  Yet, it seems that there are no dramatic healings today. Every week in services we hear prayer requests for healing of the sick in our midst or the announcement of the death of someone who went unhealed.  As we will see presently, healing and the Passover are inextricably linked together.

ANNUAL HOLY DAYS

Today is February 23, 2006 as I start to put this paper together.  Let us take a close look at God’s Annual Holy Days and the End time virgins within God’s Church who will find themselves in many different sinning situations as they wake up from their spiritual slumber.

Mat 25:1  Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

Mat 25:2  And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

Mat 25:3  They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

Mat 25:4  But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

Mat 25:5  While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

Mat 25:6  And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Mat 25:7  Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

Do not fool yourself.  If you are not spiritually asleep when this cry at midnight goes out you are not counted among the virgins.  In verse 5 it says ALL slumbered and slept.
