DEMONS AND HEALTH

Can demons affect your health?   You may be shocked right out of your socks as I have been recently, March and April 2000.  Let’s look at what the Bible says about demons and health.  I doubt if there is any area of mental or physical health that can’t be influenced.  Look at Mt. 9:32-33.

Matthew 9:32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marveled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

Casting out the demon healed the man of his muteness.  This may or may not be the same account in Luke 11:14, but most likely is.

Luke 11:14 And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.

What wretched miserable minds these demons must have.   Would you as an average Christian human being inflict this on any one?  Would you take away their ability to talk and, as we will see later, inflict many afflictions on uninformed and defenseless humans?

Where is this demon now almost 2000 years later?  Don’t you think he is inflicting his dastardly deeds on some other helpless human?  We’ll see toward the end of paper what his fear is.

Now notice Mt. 12:22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

This man was both blind and mute.   What a miserable way to live.  Some people may say that verse 22 doesn’t say he cast the demon out.  What do verses 24 and 28 say?

Matthew 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

Matthew 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

I do not have a worst enemy, but if I did, I wouldn’t take away their power to talk and see.  What incredibly evil minds we have to deal with in Satan and these demons.

Read the account in Mt. 17:15, 18.

Mat. 17:15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.

18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

Now continue in Mark 9:17-22.

17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;

18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.

19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.

20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.

21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.

22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.

And also in Luke 9:38,39, 42:

Luke 9:38 And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.

39 And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.

42 And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

Mark 9:21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.

What would we say about this child today, or maybe he was already a young man?

Oh, he is crazy.  He’s got a mental disorder, or a split personality, or the electrical circuits in his brain are not firing properly.  In some cases he would be carted off to the psychiatric hospital.

What misery what suffering what pain this demon or demons had inflicted on this man, his wife and their son for so many years!  As we will see, this is the way a demon has fun, recreation.  You can bet this demon has possessed another person and very well may have created the same scenario in a string of humans over time from before the flood until now.  As one human dies, the demon moves on to his next victim.

Mt. 8:28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

Here are two more pathetic humans that would be put in the psychiatric hospital today.

Apparently these demons would inflict personal harm on other humans through these two men.  In Mark 5 is the parallel account, verses 1-10.

Mark 5:1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

Luke 8:26-31:

26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.

27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness)

30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

The lives of these two men were wasted, fill with misery and torment, because of this legion of demons having their fun or recreation.

Mark 5:15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

Luke 8:35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

What a waste of human potential.  What a gut wrenching, sad story.

What if these were two of your family or friends in your hometown or community?

If these two men hadn’t been living during Christ life time and in that part of the world they no doubt would have been possessed till their dying day.

It’s almost a sure thing that these demons repeated this dastardly scenario many times since Christ’s day, and probably many times before Christ became human.

How sorry, how evil, Satan and his demons are, to inflict such misery on a helpless human.   We are not helpless once we understand the truth about demons. We can “carry a big stick.”  This is what the end time Christians are dealing with, and we will have the power to cast them out, if we have our spiritual ducks in a row.

In the next three passages, we see what would no doubt today be called epileptic seizures.

Luke 4:35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.

This demon could have physically harmed this man, but Christ told him not to hurt him.  This demon took his departing shot at the helpless man by throwing him down.

Mark 1:25-26:

25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

“Torn” is Strong’s # 4682 meaning, “to grasp; appar. strengthened, (from 4685 through the idea of spasmodic contraction), to mangle, i.e. convulse with epilepsy: -rend, tear.”

We need to realize these demons are our mortal enemies and will absolutely show us no mercy.  Their mind set is at a level of depravity greater than anything I can imagine as a human.  The average human is totally helpless against these evil beings.  But as mentioned earlier, we end time Christians have a Big Stick we can use. Now look at one last example of health being influenced by demons, this one apparently by Satan himself.

Luke 13:11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity…

16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?

What a depraved mind Satan and the demons have.

These words “bowed together” are Strong’s #4794 meaning, “to stoop altogether, i.e. by completely overcome by: – bow together.”

How sorry can Satan and his demon friends be to us helpless humans?   All humans are helpless against Satan’s assaults, except true church members.  God does set limits on what Satan can do to a person, just as He did with Job. True church members are mostly helpless also until we learn to use the Big Stick Christ gives us.  I’ll go through that toward the end of the paper and will cover it in a paper named, “The Powers that Be.”

Let’s examine a concept that I learn a few weeks before Passover 2000.  Read Luke 11:24.

Luke 11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

This word “rest” is Strong’s # 372 meaning, “intermission; by impl. recreation:-rest.”

Isn’t that interesting?  Satan was having recreation by causing this woman to be stooped over for eighteen years.  Her only view was probably of the ground or the floor.

The legion of demons in the two men at the tombs, which went into the pigs, were having their recreation inflicting this horrendous punishment on these humans.  The demon that cast the man’s son into the water and fire was havinghis recreation or fun tormenting this man son’s not to mention the mental torment the young man father and mother experienced.  Look at all the fun these demons had here in Littleton, CO., last April 1999, in the Columbine High School massacre.  There was a lot of fun had by these demons in the Cambodian Killing Fields in the late 60’s and early 70’s.

Are demons having their recreation in tormenting you with some health problem, some martial problem, some problem on the job, or forgetting important things you should do that cause inconvenience later?

It is your decision whether you will let your mind be a playground for demons.  There is a way out now.  I’ve been learning and applying it especially since Passover 2000.

I know today May 10, 2000 that I am a long way from totally understanding these concepts, but there sure has been a change in some minor health, job, and sleep problems since Passover.

Going back to Luke 11:24: When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

Notice, there is a lot more in this verse.  When a demon is gone out of a person

by a command in Christ’s name, there needs some sort of boundary set on the demon or else he can return and continue his evil work.

Notice what Christ did in Mark 9:25: When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

The demon was specifically told to come out and stay out of this human.  So if a time limit is not put on the demons we cast out, they can return to their house or dwelling place in that same person’s mind. Read the last part of Luke 11:24 again.  “I will return to my house” [my human recreation area].  Verse 26 gives us the final result.

Luke 11:26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

I want to spend several pages giving you some personal examples of demon activity in my own health problems.   My first real lesson in this came back in Jan. 2000.

Friday afternoon my right knee had been given me a problem, which was quite painful at times.  There was no way I could think of anything that I had done to it to cause the problem.  I came home early and went for a hike on the mountain behind my house in the National Forest.  On the hike I noticed more and more pain.  The walk lasted about one hour, and the knee continued very painful on till bedtime.  After I went to bed it was hurting so bad that I couldn’t lie still.  It suddenly dawned on me by the Holy Spirit I’m sure, that this could possibly be a demon problem.  So I rebuked the demon in Christ’s name, and within two minutes the pain was gone.  I could just feel it leaving, kind of flowing away.

Another incident happened later, probably March 2000.  I’ve had major stomach problems with indigestion, especially the last 15 years.  Along with this, I’ve had a hiatal hernia, or in plain talk my stomach closure (flapper) doesn’t work properly, which lets stomach fluids run back into the throat when lying down or bending over.  So when I woke up with a flapper problem during the night, I thought this could be a demon.  I commanded him in Christ’s Name and I could feel the discomfort leaving.  The reason I thought this might have been a demon is that I was convinced that my flapper had been healed earlier.

Can Satan cause an illness and then cause the healing?  You bet he can.  Could he fake my flapper being healed?  I’m sure he can.    Today is May 11, 2000, and I’m still unsure about this, I’ll comment more on this later.

Christmas Day 1999, a normal workday for me, I was healed of my stomach problem.   That’s a long story in itself.  The day after Christmas I realized that I did not take one stomach enzyme all the preceding day and had eaten things that would have normally demanded that I take the pills.  From the day before Christmas 1999 till today May 11,2000 I have not taken one stomach pill.  And this is still true today Sept. 9 2000.

There were two major lessons to be learned between then and now. One is that when God heals a problem, it is healed and is not a halfway botched job.  The other lesson is that Satan and his demons have the power to causedoubt, and God allows it.  It’s part of the process of working out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Phil. 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

What a blessing I was enjoying after the Christmas day healing.  I was able to eat without the pills and the sour stomach, but what gradually started happening, ever so slightly, as Satan or some demon started to have his recreationagain with me, the problem started returning. It was just occasional and less severe than in the days before the healing.  This went on till the last day of Unleavened Bread, when I finally had the knowledge to deal with it totally.

I was making progress in understanding what was happening well before Passover, but God just gives us the information, as we are able to handle it.  I’m pretty dense, but slowly and surely, I was able to see what Satan was doing. He was creating all the symptoms of stomach problems over again in me.  For what reason would Satan do this?  He wanted to cause doubt.  Hey, God didn’t really heal me.  See, if we have doubt about God, we can never enter the Kingdom.

In the mean time I had come to understand, somewhat, about the Big Stick that Christ gives us.  So I think it was the Wednesday before Passover, my wife was working with me that day running the Bobcat.  When we went to lunch, armed with the Big Stick, I commanded and threaten the demons on the way to lunch.  Then I proceeded to eat a lunch of starch and protein mixed that should have caused major problems for me, yet I felt no ill effects.  Since the last day of Unleavened Bread when I came down hard on Satan and the demons with the Big Stick, there has been no problem with my stomach that a 58-year-old stomach shouldn’t have.  There have been some hints of problems, but there’s a procedure to follow to deal with this.  I’ll cover this in the paper, “The Powers that Be.”

We end time Christians have lots to learn about dealing with demons.  Satan’s purpose is to destroy us, and God gives him lots of leeway in doing it.  Creating doubt in our mind can weaken our faith or even destroy it and cause us to lose salvation.  The instructions on how to deal with Satan are in the Bible if we are willing to be taught from God’s word and are willing to be taught by the teacher he chooses for us.  I’ve covered this in many other papers about the end time Elijah and his deputies.

Let’s discuss the Big Stick, our defense against Satan and his demons.   We can have power over Satan if we have our spiritual house in order.  And whether or not we use this power properly determines whether or not we obtain salvation.  Phil. 2:12 means what it says.

Phil. 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

If we won’t learn how to use this power God gives us over Satan, we won’t get into the kingdom, because we will remain in slavery to Satan and the demons. We can’t be released without this information.  Turn to Luke 9:1.

Luke 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

“Power” is Strong’s #1411 meaning, “force (lit or fig) spec. miraculous power (usually by impl. a miracle itself)…”

“Authority” is Strong’s # 1849 meaning, “(in the sense of ability) privilege, i.e. (sub) force capacity, competency, freedom…”

“Heal” is Strong’s #2390 meaning, “to cure (lit, or fig) heal, make whole.”

These apostles had power and authority over demons, which was a gift from Christ.  Christ gave the apostles this gift or the privilege.  In reality we will see that it is a key to the kingdom for them and for us, as we truly understand the end time scenario.  We need to remember that the Bible is written for us the end time Christians.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

“Examples” is Strong’s #5179: “a die (as struck), i.e. (by impl.) a stamp or scar; by anal. a shape, i.e. statue, (fig.) style or resemblance; spec. a sampler (“type”), i.e. a model (for imitation) or instance (for warning).”

Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study New Testament says: “type, as a constituent element of a parable or model of some reality which was yet to appear, a prototype of that which was yet to be developed and evolved.”

Are you willing to believe God’s word that the Bible is written for you, that those things written there are just prototypes for us, which we will be acting out on a larger scale these things written for us? The end-time work will be far larger than anything that the early church did or that has been done since then.

Now let’s go over to Luke 10:1-2.

Luke 10:1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.

Notice Christ sent out another seventy.  Were these all men?  It doesn’t say they were.   Could some of the “two by two” have been husband and wife teams?  Can’t a woman be a laborer in God’s service?  You bet she can.

“Laborers” is an interesting word.  It is Strong’s #2040 meaning, “a toiler, fig.  a teacher:- labourer, worker (-men).”

I have no way of proving it but I feel strongly that there might very well have been some women included in these seventy.  This was before Christ’s murder, and by the following Pentecost, there were just about one hundred and twenty in attendance at the place they had gathered.  Notice the wording in Acts 1:14-15 and Acts 2:1-3.

Acts 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. 15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty).

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

The Holy Spirit came in a visible form in Acts 2:3.

In Acts 1:14, they were all together with one accord.  Acts 2:1 says the same thing, and Acts 1:15 tells us the number was about 120.  Doesn’t Acts 1:14 say the women were a part of the number?  If seventy were sent out and some of them weren’t women, it certainly means the church was lopsided in numbers favoring men.  You know Christ would send only those with the best attitudes.  Going on to Luke 10:17-20 tells of the return of the seventy and the conversation that follows.

Luke 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Notice in verse 17, they were very happy that the demons were subject to them through Christ’s name.  This word “subject” is Strong’s #5293 meaning, “to subordinate (refex.) to obey, be under obedience (obedient), put under…”

Zodhiates’ Lexical Aids to the New Testament says this word “subject” means, “to order, to place in an orderly fashion under something. Originally, it showed one’s relation to superiors, either compulsory or voluntary subordination.  If compulsory, the main idea may be that of either power or conquest on the one side or lack of freedom on the other…”

No wonder the seventy were filled with joy. I am also, to finally understand how we can be in control of the demons and our destiny, and it not be the other way around.  I look back at the recent years of my life, and all the things I was powerless to control in my life, which were brought on by demons.  Now I feel that Christ has given me a Big Stick to carry and the knowledge to use it, but I’d be the first to say, May 13th 2000,  that I don’t feel like I have all the knowledge that is available in this area yet.

Continue in verse 19.  The first word “power” is Strong’s #1849 meaning, “(in the sense of ability), privilege, i.e. (subj.), force, capacity, competency, freedom, (obj.) mastery…”

Tread” is Strong’s # 3961 meaning, “(a path), to trample, (lit. or fig) tread (down, under foot).”   Zodhiates says about the same thing.

Notice Christ gave these disciples this power, freedom privilege, to trample on demons.  Remember I Cor. 10:11. This is just another prototype written for us. We can have the same power as the disciples, if we are disciples also.

“Serpents” is Strong’s #3789 meaning, “(through the idea of sharpness of vision) a snake, fig. (as a type of sly cunning) an artful malicious person, espec. Satan: -serpent.”

“Scorpion” is Strong’s #4651 meaning, “(to pierce) a scorpion (from is sting)…“

Scorpion is referring to demons.  Notice Rev. 9:10-11 and also verse 3.

Rev. 9:10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

Revelation 9:3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

Any human has power over physical scorpions.  Just step on them or kill them in some other way.  It’s the unseen demons that we have been powerless against.

Notice the second word “power” in verse 19 of Luke chapter 10 is Strong’s # 1411 meaning, “force (lit or fig) spec. miraculous power. (usually by impl.) a miracle itself…”

“Enemy” is Strong’s #2190 meaning, “(to hate) hateful, (pass odious, or act, hostile) usually as a noun, an adversary, (espec. Satan) enemy, foe.”

Who can have this power, this force, this freedom, this capacity, this ability to make demons and Satan be subordinate to them?  Christ’s disciples can.

Notice Luke 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

Disciple” is Strong’s # 3101 meaning, “a learner, i.e. pupil.”   The same word is used for disciples in John 13:5.

John 13:5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples‘ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

So this power is available to you and me to tread, or walk on demons, to carry the Big Stick and keep them in subordination.

Let’s take a look at what demons fear most.  As we saw earlier, demons have no mercy, no qualms about dealing out severe health problems to humans.  But now the knowledge is available to counter this.

Read Luke 4:34. Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

This word “destroy” is Strong’s #622 meaning, “to destroy fully, (reflex. to perish or lose. lit. or fig:–destroy, die, lose,  mar, perish.”  This demon knows he is subject to destruction at the hands of Christ. Now read verses 35-36.

Luke 4:35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.

36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

“Authority” is Strong’s # 1849.  That’s the same one translated “power” in Luke 10:19 meaning (in the sense of ability) privilege, i.e., force, capacity…”  The last word “power” used in Luke 10:19 is Strong’s #1411, which means, “force, (lit. or fig.) spec. miraculous power, (usually by impl. a miracle itself)…”

Go to Luke 8:28. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee torment me not.

The word “torment” is Strong’s # 928 meaning, “to torture-pain, toil, torment…”

The word “beseech” is Strong’s #1189 meaning, “to beg, (as binding oneself) i.e. petition.”

Here again these demons know what they will face at the hands of this mighty Jesus Christ.

Now notice in verse 31. And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

All Christ has to do is say the word and they would have to do it.  This is what the seventy were filled with joy about.  They used Christ’s Name properly and the demons were subordinate to them.   The same thing applies to the end time Christians.  If we use Christ’s name properly, the demons have to be subordinate to us.

Continuing in verse 31, the word “deep” is Strong’s #12 which means, “depthless, i.e. (spec) (infernal) abyss, deep (bottomless) pit.”  In this verse the demons are pleading not to be sent into the bottomless pit.

Let’s go to Mark 5 and look at the same account in verse 7.  “Torment” is Strong’s #928, which means “to torture” as we covered earlier.

Mark 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

Notice verse 9.  It will be very important in your future, when dealing with demon caused health problems.

Mark 5:9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

Many” is Strong’s #4183 meaning, “much in any respect, largely…”  This is the same word use in Mt. 22:14, “For many are called, but few are chosen.”

Notice we have a demon hierarchy in place here, for the drill sergeant or company commander was doing the talking.

Going on to the point of what these demons fear, continue reading in Mark 5:10.  “And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.”   Here again these demons are beseeching Christ, pleading for mercy.  What hypocrites, they can dish it out to humans, but can’t take it.

“Country” is Strong’s #5561 meaning, “through the idea of empty expanse, room, i.e. a space of territory (more or less extensive, often includ. its inhab.)…”

What they are saying is, Hey Christ, please don’t send us to the bottomless pit.

Don’t send us out of this country with its human inhabitants we can torment.

Now go on to Mt. 8:29.  And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

Here in this verse “torment” is Strong’s # 928 meaning, “to torture…”  But notice that there is something added.  This word “time” is Strong’s # 2540 which means, “an occasion i.e. set or proper time…”  This verse tells us the demons know that there is a day when they will pay their dues in full.   Read my paper on Satan’s Execution.  So the demons fear being tormented before the set time, and they fear being sent to the bottomless pit.   Are you starting to see what is developing here? Christ could send these demons to the abyss or bottomless pit.  Can you now start to see what you can do through the proper use of Christ’s name?

Reread Luke 10:17, 19.

17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

We can have this power to trample on demons, this force, this capacity, this freedom, if we use Christ Name properly.

Let’s look at why demons fear going to the bottomless pit, why they plead for their freedom.  There are no doubt some reasons that I’m not aware of at this time, but let’s look at a couple that I am aware of.

Revelation 9:1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

Revelation 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

These verses tell us that they are actually in prison under lock down.  And verse three tells us they have been striped of their power.  If you think not, why does it say “power” was given them?  In addition to losing power, when they are sent to the bottomless pit they also loose their recreation area.

Luke 11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.

26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

Notice verse 24.  When a demon is gone out of a man by being cast out by someone or displaced by a more powerful demon, what does he do?  He travels through dry places and goes into a desert.  When this demon returns, why does he bring along seven others? Was he ousted originally by a more powerful demon and he in turn gets reinforcements to overcome the evictor?

“Dry” is Strong’s # 504 meaning “waterless, i.e. dry:- dry, without water.”  So this homeless demon is wandering through the cosmos in places that are void of what a demon wants most, recreation.  This word “rest” is Strong’s #372. It is from Strong’s #373, which means “intermission, by impl. recreation…”

There’s no human to torment with health problems or the many, many other things they can do to us.   So he has no recreation, how boring, boring, boring, boring for this demon.   Possessing an animal brain is a second option, but this is no doubt real boring unless this animal can be used against us hapless humans.   Computers in this age are probably better recreation for demons than animals, since they can torment humans through these computers and cause them to sin.  Has your computer ever done unexplained things such as loose or delete a file?   See the whole purpose of this demon recreation is to cause you to sin and lessen your chances at salvation.  There is more opportunity to sin daily using a computer than there is riding a horse or playing with a dog, for instance.

This “fun” these demons have in tormenting us humans spans the whole spectrum of human endeavors and activity.  After a certain amount of boredom this demon decides to go home.

“House” in Luke 11:24 is Strong’s #3624 meaning, “a dwelling (more or less extensive, lit. or fig): by impl. a family (more or less related, lit. or fig.):–home,  house (-hold) temple.”

Can we start to see that human minds are the demons’ playgrounds, their recreation areas?  Once you understand, that explains the Columbine Massacre in Littleton, CO. last April and also the youth gangs, the international divorce problems, the Hitler’s, the domestic violence.   Take any example of man’s inhumanity to man, and at the bottom of this you will no doubt find demons.

Take heart, this is not a hopeless situation for Christians, although it is to other human beings until they can have access to the Holy Spirit. As I’ve said several times in this paper, Christ gives us a Big Stick to carry and use.  As a matter of fact, we are commanded to use it.  It’s all a part of “working out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

Phil. 2:12 – Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Go to 1 Corinthians 6.

1 Corinthians 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Are you willing to believe God’s word?  Are you going to let these demons continue have fun in your mind by planting seeds of doubt or raising questions that cause you not to rightly divide the word of truth?

2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Paul was aware of this truth and no doubt was frustrated with the Corinthians for allowing these demons to have their recreation right there among the congregation.

Notice verse 2 of 1 Corinthians 6: Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

“Judge” is Strong’s #2919 meaning, “to distinguish, i.e. decide (mentally or judicially by impl. to try, condemn, punish, avenge…

Paul’s frustration was that apparently the Corinthians were going to the public courts to settle disputes rather that letting the church handle them privately.  But keep in mind here that the demons were having their “fun, or recreation” as they manipulated the members of the congregation by planting all these thoughts and ideas in the members’ heads that led to the problems Paul was trying to correct.

Continuing in verse 3, “Know ye not that we shall judge angels?”  What does this mean?  Coming through the Worldwide Church of God system, I thought it meant we would judge the fallen angels, demons.  It’s insane to think we sinning humans would judge the righteous angels. Why would righteous angels who have proved their loyalty to God for thousands of years need judging anyway?

Looking at Ezekiel 28:14-19, you need to start noticing as we go through this that Satan has already been tried, condemned and sentenced.  But the fact is he has not been executed yet. What he gets, the rest of the demons get, and they know it, because he is their king, Rev. 9:11.

Revelation 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

Ezekiel 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

There is a set time when this execution will happen.  The word “time” is Strong’s # 2540 meaning, “on an occasion, i.e. a set or proper time…”

Mt. 8:29  And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

Now notice verse 16: By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Are Christ and the Father joking?  It’s a done deal; Satan will be destroyed. Continue in verse 17.

Ezekiel 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

The decision has already been made by these mighty God’s to lay Satan before kings. These kings are the saved Christians as well as resurrected angelic kings.

Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Continuing in verse 18, God tells us how He will do the executing, and the final result of the execution.  Satan and the demons will end in self-destruction.  Apparently a fire will generate inside them and burn them to spirit ashes.

Ezekiel 28:18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

Read “Satan’s Execution.”  We will have to be spirit beings to witness this.  Notice in verse 19 our reaction to this event.  From that moment on Satan and the demons cease to exist, never again to live.  That’s the day they pay their dues.

Now referring back to I Cor. 6:3 and the statement, “know ye not that we shall judge angels.”  Isn’t it obvious from God’s word that Satan and the demons have been judged?  This word “judge” is Strong’s #2919 meaning, “to distinguish, i.e. decide (mentally or judicially) by impl. to try, condemn, punish, avenge, conclude condemn, damn…”

According to Zodhiates’ Lexical Aids to the New Testament, it means, “to divide, separate, make a distinction, come to a decision, to judge, try in a solemn judicial manner…”  Hasn’t God already done this to Satan and the demons? Is His word true or not?  The only thing left to do is to carry out the sentence and do the executing.

So where does that leave us?  Is I Corinthians .6:3 some kind of joke?   No, this is where Christ has given us the Big Stick to use on Satan and the demons. This judging is to be done now, in the end time.  Remember, there is nothing hidden that won’t be revealed.  This is a key to the kingdom, as we learn to recognize Satan, the demons and their activity in our lives, in our health, as well as other areas.  We can judge, try, condemn, and sentence these demons.  The Bible is written for us, I Cor.10:11.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

What I’m doing now, May 16th 2000, is I warn the demons and the next infraction I sentence them.  What a dramatic improvement there has been since the last day of unleavened Bread in my health and job relations, since I’ve sent a number of demons to the pit.

This brings up the next point.  Where or what do we sentence them to?  What do demons fear most?  One thing is found in Luke 11:24-26.

We just covered this. Boredom is a major problem for demons.  If they have no human mind to manipulate, Christ compares it to being in a desert with no recreation for the demons.  That thought itself really raises my hackles, to think my mind is a playground for demons, a recreation area.  It sure explains a lot of things that has happen in my life all the way back to adolescence, from early 50’s on.  No doubt this type of boredom is a major problem for some demons.  Let’s revisit some scriptures that tell us what really puts the fear in their hearts.

Mt. 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the  time?

“Time” is Strong’s # 2540 meaning, “an occasion, i.e. set or proper time…”

Notice the first words out of the demon’s mouth, “are you here to torture us before the time?”  This indicates their fear and knowledge of the future.  There’s no question that they know they will have to pay their dues in full at some point.

Mark 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

This word “torment” is Strong’s #928, same as above.   But this verse puts a different twist on it.  This word “adjure” is Strong’s #3726 meaning, “to put an oath,

i.e., make swear…”

Do you see that these demons show us humans no mercy?  But see how they beg when they think they are facing due day trying to get Christ to swear not to execute them at that time.

Continue in Mark 5:10: And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

The begging continues, “Besought him much.”  “Much” is Strong’s #4183 meaning, “much in any respect…”

So this legion of demons was begging, imploring Christ “much” to not execute or send them out of the country.  “Country” is Strong’s #5561 meaning, “through the idea of empty expanse, room, i.e. space of territory  (more or less extensive, often including its inhab.)…”

Here again it raises my hackles, that these demons can dish is out but can’t take it.  Do they care how many humans they kill? Not at all.  This empty expanse, is no doubt the dry waterless places (symbolically) mention just a bit earlier, were there is no recreation for the demons.  It may very well mean that there is no “water of life” that they can partake of.  They have to have it, Revelation 22:1.

Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Just to refresh your memory a bit, we have the power over these demons, just like Christ.  They will dread us when we learn to use His Name properly.  That’s why the Seventy were fill with joy.

Luke 10:17  And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

They had discovered that they could be in control of demons, thus they had the Big Stick.   Are you starting to see that we have the power to send demons out of the country to this empty expanse?  Just what is this empty expanse?  Go to Luke 8:31.

Luke 8:31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

Here again in the same account these demons are beseeching, begging, imploring Christ for mercy not to send them to the deep.

This word “deep” is Strong’s #12 meaning, “depthless, i.e. (spec) Infernal (abyss) deep. (bottomless) pit.  Now what’s the bottom line here?   We have the power to judge angels.  We are commanded to judge angels.

1 Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Judging means to try, condemn, sentence demons to what they fear most, to the bottomless pit.  Jesus Christ has given us that power.

Our judging leads us to trample, to tread on demons to make them be subordinate to us through the proper use of Christ’s name.  What an incredible, awesome understanding, we can finally to be in control of our life and to be able to put our tormentors in prison.  I can’t explain the overwhelming contentment, the peace of mind I have now with improved health.   It’s such a blessing to be able to eat a meal without having to suffer afterwards.  And much of the price I was paying in the past was directly caused by demons.  Some of these demons right now, May 17, 2000 are in the bottomless pit because I put them there through Christ’s Name.  This is truly a key to the kingdom.  There’s no way we can do Phil. 2:12 without this knowledge.

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

If you have suffered for many years with a chronic affliction of some sort, and you are relieved and healed of that, you can truly understand how I feel.  I’ve never had this contentment during the 33 1/2 plus years I’ve been in God’s church.  It’s like a vacant spot has been filled in my life, or a missing dimension filled.  Once you understand and can implement this truth, you will be filled with joy like the seventy in Luke 10:17.

I want to remind you again that we have to be in harmony with God’s Word in order to have Christ give us this power.

There is just one more point we need to cover in this paper, Demons and Health.

As you understand more and more about demons you will see what an impact they have on your health and every other aspect of life.  Go to Acts 19:12.  If you came through the Worldwide Church of God, you’ve been fed a lot of garbage about this verse.

Acts 19:12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

The Worldwide Church of God twisted and perverted the scriptures, especially this verse.  Where does it say they were anointed?  It doesn’t.  A church member pointed this out to me last fall, 1999.   The reason the Worldwide Church of God did this was so every so-called “minister” could supposedly heal the sick.  In reality this was a one-man show, a special gift to Paul.  Notice what it says in verse 11.

Acts 19:11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

There was a similar example concerning Peter’s shadow.  Acts 5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

This word “handkerchief” is Strong’s #4676 meaning, “a sudarium (sweat cloth), i.e. a towel for wiping perspiration from the face…”

“Apron” is Strong’s #4612 meaning, “a semicinctium or half-girding, i.e. narrow covering (apron): apron.”

So a towel, or a piece of cloth, apparently anything that had touched Paul’s body, could perform a miracle in the way of healing and casting out demons.

Why were demons cast out right along side of people being healed?  Because Paul understood that the cause of a sickness is in a lot of cases impossible for us humans to detect.   It’s just like two pieces of wood glued together like a sandwich.  It’s very hard to separate.

Go back to the woman that Satan had bound for eighteen years all bent over in Luke 13:11, 16.  Which medical doctor could determine that Satan caused this problem?  All the doctors could do is look for a physical cause.  What about Mt. 9:32-33?  Which doctor could have told that the muteness was caused by a demon having his recreation?  When the demon was gone, so was the hearing problem.

Read Mt. 12:22, 24, 28.

22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils…

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Here again, muteness and in this case blindness was healed directly by the casting out of demons.  Which human being in the sciences or medical areas could have detected that a demon was causing both problems of muteness and blindness?  Flesh just can’t detect the spirit activity in these things.  Paul was aware of this fact and that why Paul’s “rags” could cast out demons as well as healing an affliction of real physical origin.

When you are anointed by a true elder in the end time, the first process will be to cast out demons that may be causing the problem.  Then the elder would do the actual anointing.  We need to realize that a demon caused affliction doesn’t need the sacrifice of Christ applied to it.  The beating he took was to heal our diseases, not to cast out demons.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Simply casting out the demon can heal a demon-caused illness.  A real physical illness will need the blessing of being healed by Christ sacrifice.  There is a major problem with the average Christian’s attitude in the end time. Most end time Christians will not admit they could be influenced by a demon either in health or spiritual matters.  By the Biblical account, it seems that people back then had no trouble in recognizing the work of demons, but they were powerless to do anything about it until Christ came along.

The end time Christians will continue in their snoring “sleep,” Mt. 25:5, until the Holy Spirit wakes them up to the fact of demon activity in their lives and this will no doubt come through the end time Elijah and his deputies.

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

This will begin our repenting process, as the cry at midnight comes to us.  Now what will you do as an end time Christian with this information?  Learning to use the Big Stick on Satan and his demons will bring you relief, both spiritually and physically in many instances.

Notice the instruction in James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God.   Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

“Resist” is Strong’s #436 meaning, “to stand against, i.e. oppose:–resist, withstand.”  “Submit” is Strong’s #5293 which means, “to subordinate, obey…”  That’s the same word used for “subject” in Luke 10:17.

Luke 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

So the demons have to be subordinate to us, just like we do to Christ.  We can now stand against Satan and his demons, armed to the teeth with the Big Stick of God’s word and really make a difference, as we work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
