SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

This was the day that shook the free world to its foundation and the day that God made an open statement to His church.  The end time events have finally started to move.  This is real.  God’s hand is all over this. He allowed Satan to do this dastardly deed for a mighty good reason and Satan was more than delighted to oblige.

There are literally dozens of things that show God hand in this. Today is Oct 14, 2001, one month and 3 days after this horrible event, as I start to write this paper.  No doubt there will be several parts to this as time marches on.

The church has already started to repent and wake up.  This will be more magnified by Passover, Pentecost 2002.

Why do I say God’s hand is all over this?  Let’s start with the reasons that are obvious.

AFTER FIRST MONTH, TENTH DAY

This is November, 2005.  This paper has been lying on the table unfinished for the last five years.  This may seem like a strange title and opening line to a Christian paper, but read on.  1 Corinthians 10:11 is true. Read the definition below. There were many things the physical Israelites did physically that we will do on a spirit level.  Also, many of the things that the first New Testament church did, we will do on a larger scale.

What happens after we come up out of Jordan on the 10th day of the 1st month?

I think it is a good bet that Satan will first have to release about 120 Christians.  This number could be about 240, since this is the second time it happens.  It could also be larger because of the tare factor, but I personally think the tares will come later.   It could very well be double because fifty percent of the virgins are foolish.

END-TIME EVENTS — CAN YOU HANDLE THEM?

It is through much tribulation that we will enter the kingdom of God.

Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

This word, “tribulation,” is Strong’s #2347, “pressure, (lit. or fig) afflicted, (tion), anguish, burden, persecution, tribulation, trouble.”

So this is what we, as end-time Christians, have to look forward to.  If you have God’s Holy Spirit, the Bible is written as a personal message for you.

WILL CHRIST FIND FAITH ON THE EARTH?

Luke 18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

These verses are talking to the church at the end time.  Verse 7 mentions the elect and verse 8 His return. The question, “shall he find faith on the earth?” is not asked in vain.  There are serious implications from this question and we just cannot ignore it.

KEY TO THE KINGDOM

This information is not only a key to the kingdom; it may very well be THE key to the kingdom for many. If we fail to recognize Elijah, we will miss salvation, since he is the only one who can “make ready a people prepared for the Lord,”

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Notice that Elijah is guaranteed to come.

WILL ALL ISRAEL BE SAVED?

Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Are we looking at a stumbling stone which has been placed in front of the church? We need to get to the bottom of this.  These verses can provide a satisfied feeling for the spiritually lazy in God’s church. After all “I’m a blood-line Israelite, (or have been grafted into Israel), so I WILL be saved,” the thoughts might go.  But what are these verses really saying?   In Romans 10:1, “desire” is Strong’s #2107, meaning “satisfaction, i.e., (subj.) delight or (obj.) kindness…”  Paul was only stating his “wish” and even felt so strongly about this subject that he prayed that he was willing to sacrifice his own salvation in order that all Israel MIGHT be saved.  However, his prayer has an overtone of despair  that the WHOLE of Israel was not salvageable.  Read Romans 9:2-3:

FIRST RESURRECTION

Who will be there? Everyone whom God has offered salvation since Adam and Eve.

Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame [and] everlasting contempt.

Who are these “many?” The New International Version says “multitudes.” They are split into two groups–winners and losers, if you will.  Some will receive everlasting life, some receive everlasting contempt.  Young’s Analytical Concordance to the Bible says about “contempt”: “3.Abhorrence, thrusting away…”

The saved are the 288,000 plus the innumerable multitude of Revelation 7 and 14.  A careful comparison of the attributes of each group of 144,000 shows that these are two separate groups. The first group is made up entirely of Israelites who are alive at the end time. The tribulation is held up until this group of 144, 000 can be sealed:

CROSSING JORDAN

Today is November 23, 1999 as I start to write this paper. Dates could very well be important to us as we look at things in hindsight.

I expect December 2, 1999 to be very significant. It may actually be the 1st or 3rd as calculating the calendar from the Hebrew to the Roman calendar we use can present some difficulties in the process.

Why December 2, 1999? It is the day mentioned in Haggai 2:18-19—the 9th month and 24th day:

Haggai 2:18 Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid, consider it. 19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

From this day we should start to be blessed if this is the year we get to the other side of Jordan. I’ll start from the beginning. A few weeks before Passover 1999, I started to realize that this could be the year the end-time events kick into gear and things start happening in God’s Church. The thing that triggered this thought process was “1999.”

(Today is June 7, 2006.  December 2, 1999 came and went with nothing significant happening.  Events just keep creeping along.)

The number 3 has to do with divine perfection and 9 has to do with judgment and finality. So I thought it was significant that we have three nines in this year. The first question that came to mind was: Is this the year that judgment begins at the house of God?

1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Matthew 25:5 is true and there are NO exceptions:

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

Matthew 25:5 stays true with each of the people who have God’s Holy Spirit in the end time until Matthew 25:6 happens to them:

Matthew 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Now another major factor that entered into this was 1 Corinthians 10:11. If this verse is true, all these things written for us are just prototypes for us to act out. If 1 Corinthians 10:11 is not true, we have no salvation anyway because the Bible is a lie.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

“Examples” is Strong’s #5179: “a die (as struck), i.e. (by impl.) a stamp or scar; by anal. a shape, i.e. statue, (fig.) style or resemblance; spec. a sampler (“type“), i.e. a model (for imitation) or instance (for warning).”

Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study New Testament says: “type, as a constituent element of a parable or model of some reality which was yet to appear, a prototype of that which was yet to be developed and evolved.”

“Admonition” is Strong’s #3559: “calling attention to, i.e. (by impl.) mild rebuke or warning.”

“World” is Strong’s #165: “prop. an age; by extens. perpetuity (also past); by impl. the world; spec. (Jewish) a Messianic period (present or future):—age, course, eternal, (for) ever (-more), [n-]ever, (beginning of the , while the) world (began, without end).”

Let me go through the thought process I had this past Holy Day season. I’m sure Pharaoh (Satan to us) had to release the foundation church this past Passover. This would be about 120 Christians. Remember, these things written are prototypes:

Acts 1:15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty)

The foundation of the New Testament Church was “about 120.” This was God’s first large harvest at one time or season, but the end-time harvest will make this look like small potatoes.

What happened when the children of Israel were freed from Pharaoh? Within days, they were trapped by the Red Sea. The experiences of the children of Israel are just something for us to imitate. This “about 120” will be entrapped by Satan (Pharaoh) at their own personal Red Seas. This has certainly happened to me.

I am a building contractor, building homes. My wife and I haven’t sold a house since November 30, 1998. Our entrapment is severe, as our money woes get worse. Many Christians are failing to be healed and dying.  Why can’t they be healed? Why aren’t they healed? Why is there a famine of healing in God’s Church? According to Psalms 103:2-3, healing goes right along with forgiveness of sin:

Psalms 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Could it be that we are floundering and struggling in our efforts to cross the Jordan? Have we basically been cut off from the fruits of the Holy Spirit? A lot more on that later.

I expected major relief at Pentecost time, but Pentecost came and went with nothing drastic happening. In hindsight, I see more clearly how we have to act these things out. I think we just got an extra jolt of the Holy Spirit to help us endure our trials. Remember the New Testament Church foundation got a visible shot of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Day:

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

So I thought the fall Holy Day season would bring the relief we so desperately needed since Christ returns on Trumpets and makes war. I thought he would symbolically return to us on Trumpets, make war with Satan, and send him packing into the symbolic wilderness with the sins of the Church on him on Atonement.

On Monday night exactly seven weeks before Atonement, (Atonement was on Monday this year) we had a call from a friend at midnight. She wanted us to pray for her as she was in great discomfort and pain and could not sleep. My wife and I prayed and found out later the problems were temporarily relieved, but she still stands at death’s grim door today, November 23, 1999. I had thought for certain that relief would come by the end of Atonement.

For all these years, since 1967, I have been taught, and have thought until this year, that we were to go to the Feast of Tabernacles with the greatest of joy. I believed that the millennium, which the Feast represents, was for the most part a joyous time. Indeed, the potential is there for this to be so, but the fact of the matter is I went to the Feast of Tabernacles this year, 1999, under a black cloud. Two people we know were both at death’s door with no relief coming from this mighty God who inhabits eternity, who claims to heal all our diseases. WHY?

Psalms 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

I felt quite a bit of discouragement about this. The virgins can’t sleep forever:

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

We cannot stay in a spiritual coma forever, cut off from the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Healing is one of the fruits—don’t kid yourself and don’t reason it away. We, the end-time Church of God, are sick and dying spiritually now, November 23, 1999—today. Where is the fruit of the Holy spirit that the New Testament Church displayed? Wasn’t healing a major fruit of the Spirit? We’ll see more about this later in this paper.

With close study you will see from the pages of the Bible that there is a dark and gloomy cloud over the millennium. It’s not God’s fault—it is the fault of humans. The Feast of Tabernacles ends the prototype for us today. We do not act out the Last Great Day.

About mid-Feast, I became acutely aware of what Haggai 2:18-19 says:

Haggai 2:18 Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid, consider it. 19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

In verse 18, it seems to be saying there is a time lapse after the foundation is laid. Notice the term “was laid” in verse 15.

Haggai 2:15 And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD:

It also seems to indicate there is a time lag from the time the foundation is laid until the building begins. Notice also in Zechariah 4:9 that there seems to be an intermission between the time the foundation is laid and the temple is built:

Zechariah 4:9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.

In the two verses in Haggai, the word “temple” is used—that is us, the end-time Christians.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

In Zechariah 4:9 above, the word “house” is Strong’s #1004: “a house (in the greatest variety of applications, especially family)…”

Notice in Haggai 2:19 that there is no fruit production:

Haggai 2:19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

This verse clearly states that from the 9th month and 24th day blessings would start coming. We will revisit these verses later in more detail.

How can there be fruit production if Matthew 25:5 is true?

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

“Slumbered” is Strong’s #3573: “to nod, i.e. (by implication) to fall asleep; fig. to delay:—slumber.”

“Slept” is Strong’s #2518: “to lie down to rest, i.e. (by implication) to fall asleep (literally or figuratively):—(be a-) sleep.”

To some degree, some or most of us will deny that we are asleep. Once we get across Jordan the Holy Spirit will be unleashed on us in amounts we have only read about. We will blush with embarrassment at how soundly we were sleeping. God is responsible for our sleeping and He is also responsible for waking us up.

Acts 17:30 is a very encouraging verse, but notice the command to repent once new spiritual truth starts to awaken us:

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

If 1 Corinthians 10:11 is true, then the crossing of the Jordan River is one of the prototypes written for us and we will have to act it out.

Another key to understanding God’s word is found in Mark 16:20.

Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

“Following” is Strong’s #1872 meaning “to accompany:—follow (after).” An example of a sign following and accompanying would be someone being healed instantly when anointed. Wouldn’t that be following and accompanying the anointing?

Now read the actual account of crossing the Jordan:

Joshua 1:1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying, 2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

Now this immediately brings up a major question we have to deal with. If 1 Corinthians 10:11 and prototypes are true, then who is the end-time Joshua?

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Malachi 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

Matthew 17:10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elijah must first come? 11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things. 12 But I say unto you, That Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. 13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

If you are willing to believe your Bible, then the end-time Elijah has to also be the Joshua character who leads us into the Promised Land.

Notice what Elijah does:

  1. He’s the only one who can make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
  2. He turns the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers.
  3. He prepares the way before Christ’s return. How? By giving the cry at midnight:

Matthew 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

  1. He deals with the disobedient element of the wise virgins:

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

  1. He restores all things.

If the end-time Elijah does all this, he has to be the one who leads us into the Promised Land. So Joshua is just one of the hats that the end-time Elijah wears—there are two others in addition to the Elijah hat.

Before we go into the other two hats, let’s look at Matthew 25:5-6 a little more:

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

There are NO exceptions to this statement. Can you show me where anyone is excluded? This applies to the end-time Elijah/Joshua as well as to the rest of us.

Notice Zechariah 3:1-4.

Zechariah 3:1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. 2 And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? 3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. 4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

In verse 1, Joshua is the high priest. Who will be our high priest? Remember the list of things that Elijah accomplishes. Doesn’t the high priest get the word at God’s mouth? Won’t Elijah get the word at God’s mouth if he is the only one who can make ready a people prepared for the Lord?

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

In Zechariah 3:2, Joshua is called a “brand plucked from the fire.” He is snatched from the lake of fire just like the rest of us when we wake up and repent. The foolish virgins of Matthew 25:2 fail to follow through on repentance and fruit production, so they go into the lake of fire anyway.

Matthew 25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

Notice in Zechariah 3:3 that Joshua is in his sins, but God reveals truth to him, waking him up spiritually, and he repents:

Zechariah 3:3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. 4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

Going back to Zechariah 3:1, this man will get plenty of personal attention from Satan:

Zechariah 3:1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. 2 And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

Resist” is Strong’s #7853: “to attack, (fig.) accuse:— (be an) adversary, resist.”

Satan will try to make him blow his salvation. In verse 2 this word “brand” is Strong’s #181: “a poker (for turning or gathering embers):—(fire-) brand.” Won’t the virgins, as we wake up in Matthew 25:7, have a flame?

Matthew 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

God will use this Elijah/Joshua “poker” to stir our flames up.

Another hat that will be worn by the end-time Elijah is that of Zerubbabel. Zerubbabel was governor of the Jews. What are end-time Christians called?

Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Who will be our governor? Won’t it be the end-time Elijah, since he is the one to restore all things, make ready a people prepared for the Lord and prepare the way before Christ’s coming?

This governorship is in the least restrictive sense. Elijah’s governing role will be more in the form of leadership as he does the job that God gives him and we follow. God hates the hierarchy system, which uses might and power. Notice the instruction to Zerubbabel against that. Notice in verse 9 that he laid the foundation of God’s end-time house:

Zechariah 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Zechariah 4:9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.

“Might” is Strong’s #2428: “prob. a force, whether of men, means or other resources; an army, wealth, virtue, valor, strength…”

“Power” is Strong’s #3581: “vigor, lit. (force in a good or bad sense) or fig. (capacity, means, produce)…ability…might, power (-ful), strength, substance, wealth…

There is one more hat that Elijah wears and that is the hat of Moses. Didn’t Moses restore the truth about God to our forefathers? Remember, the original was only a prototype for the end-time Christians. Since we are all asleep, won’t we need to have the truth restored to us?

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

Matthew 17:11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things.

So Moses has to be one of the hats that Elijah wears as he is the only one who can make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

We will see more of the Moses aspect as we proceed on toward the Promised Land. Moses took on Pharaoh. There are many Pharaohs blocking our way into the Kingdom.

Acts 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. 22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Deuteronomy 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; 16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. 17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. 18 I will raise them up a Prophetfrom among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. 20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

Acts 3:21 talks of the “restitution of all things.” Compare this with Matthew 17:11.

Matthew 17:11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things.

In Deuteronomy 18:15 & 18, this prophet is to be like Moses. Wasn’t Moses a big-time sinner? He didn’t get to enter the promised land. Notice also in verse 18 that God puts His words in this man’s mouth. Won’t this be the case with the end-time Elijah? Remember Elijah’s list of things to do, mentioned earlier. So here again, we have Elijah wearing the hat of Moses. This knowledge opens up a ton of prototypes for us.

Let’s go back to Haggai 2:15 & 18 and Zechariah 4:9 again.

Haggai 2:15 And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD:

Haggai 2:18 Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid, consider it.

“Stone” is Strong’s #68: “through the meaning to build; a stone…”

Zechariah 4:9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.

So how is this foundation laid? It’s almost like it is laid by accident. It seems as though it is laid before he is told how or before he knew what he was doing. Why doesn’t is say, “Zerubbabel built my house from the ground up?” Could it be that John 1:23 is the way this is accomplished?

John 1:23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Elijah.

Matthew 17:11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things.

This Joshua character is snatched from the fire in Zechariah 3 and he starts to repent as God gives him his own personal cry at midnight. Does Joshua start to spread it around? It is almost like a new calling and first love. In today’s society, it would be easy to spread the new truth around with the use of the inter-net, audio tapes, written papers, etc. As Joshua/Zerubbabel/Elijah does this, will he inadvertently lay the foundation?

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: 12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

The famine “of hearing the words of the Lord” is the reason we, the end-time virgins, are in a spiritual wilderness. Go back to Joshua 3:5.

Joshua 3:5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you.

Haggai 2:19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

This word “wonders” in Joshua 3:5 is Strong’s #6381: “to separate, i.e. distinguish (lit. or fig.)…” Will this be the day that God will start to separate and distinguish his true virgins from the others? By doing wonders like starting to heal His sick and dying Church and beginning to give us some Holy Spirit blessings? (More about this later.) Will some of these wonders include healing some sick and dying virgins? Why not, if the New Testament Church is a prototype? We will see many staggering miracles done. They were certainly done in the New Testament Church. Can we expect any less than what the New Testament Church got? I certainly don’t.

Read Haggai 2:15 & 18 again:

Haggai 2:15 And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD:

Haggai 2:18 Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid, consider it.

“Was laid” is past tense. This seems to start a lag time before going forward with the building. Notice the phrases “before a stone was laid upon a stone” and “the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid.” So you have a foundation with no stones on top of it.

“Stone” is Strong’s #68: “through the meaning to build; a stone

Let’s revisit Haggai 2:19 now. Notice there is no Holy Spirit production up to this point. Remember, it’s from the 9th month and 24th day that the blessings start, which is December 2nd, 1999 (but it did not happen and still hasn’t happened over six years later).

Haggai 2:19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

Look at where we are today, November 23, 1999. The Church is sick and dying. It needs to be healed with an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Many of its members are sick and dying spiritually. Quite a few are standing at death’s door, physically. Is Psalms 103:2-3 a lie or not?

Psalms 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Why are we only getting half the promises here? Tell me why we aren’t getting all our diseases healed. The reason is in Haggai 2:19 and this won’t change until the 9th month and 24th day.  And no doubt this will be a slow process. I think in some cases we are going to have to wake up at least to a point before we can be healed.

Haggai 2:19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

Notice the question, “Is the seed yet in the barn?” Tie this in with Matthew 13:30.

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

“The fig tree…hath not brought forth.”

Luke 13:6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. 7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

“As yet the vine…hath not brought forth.”

John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Also, “the olive tree hath not brought forth.” So in reality, Holy Spirit production is on hold until the 9th month and 24th day comes and goes—the 2nd of December, 1999 if this is the year.

There is a direct relationship between the pomegranate and Elijah. We will discuss that later in this paper.

Just as an aside note, if you came through the WCG system, you will remember that healing was the first thing Joe Tkach attacked in his first blatant effort to destroy the Church. He tried to destroy healing doctrine in November 1986. If I remember right, it was an article in the Worldwide News.

I fully expect one of the first major acts of the Holy Spirit to be the healing of a woman who is at the point of death, physically. Since a woman represents the Church, why wouldn’t that be? There surely must be plenty of sick and afflicted people in the rank and file of the Church. I have a couple of problems I certainly would like to have healed.

How can we have full confidence in Psalms 103:2-3 if we never get healed? How can I be confident that my sins are forgiven? I see no way to separate these two promises. Should we have to make excuses for the lack of healings that occur today?

There are many reasons for the pathetic shape the Church is in. One reason is found in Daniel 12:7.

Daniel 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

“Scatter” is Strong’s #5310: “to dash to pieces, or scatter—be beaten in sunder, break (in pieces), broken, dash (in pieces), cause to be discharged, dispersed, be overspread, scatter.”

The hierarchy system is, or was, the power of the holy people. That system led to the pooling of tithe money, which is wrong in God’s sight. I’m speaking of the whole church sending God’s tithes to one man to spend for them. The parable of the talents says in Matthew 25:20, “I have gained five talents more…” not “I and some other man or corporate group…

Matthew 25:20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

Go to Joshua 3:7. This is a personal message to us as well as to Joshua/Elijah:

Joshua 3:7 And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.

This word “magnify” is Strong’s #1431: “to twist, i.e. to be (causatively make) large.” No doubt, in hindsight we will have to see who God has used and is enlarging or magnifying in our sight.

Some of us may have been struggling and floundering in the Jordan for several years at this point. Or the Jordan crossing may well just be one year, but there is a three and a half year famine of the word also. More about that later.

Satan will also have his fakes out there imitating all that he can:

2 Corinthians 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Today is November 24, 1999 as I continue to write this paper.

Joshua 3:9 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God. 10 And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.

Isn’t it going to take a massive infusion of the Holy Spirit for us to know that God is among us? Isn’t God going to have to prove it? How long can we spiritually sleep without dying? I’m convinced this will happen very soon now, or it could be a small infusion as the Holy Spirit production in Haggai 2:19 is linked to trees and vines—they produce slowly as they come out of dormancy.  The latter is more likely.

Does the Jordan literally represent the Holy Spirit? Water represents the Holy Spirit:

John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Notice that the Holy Spirit flows. “Springing” is Strong’s #242: “to jump; (fig.) to gush:—leap, spring up.”

Read also Revelation 22:1-2. Notice here the Holy Spirit flows—it is a river:

Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Notice the word “proceeding” in verse 1. The Holy Spirit flows—it is not stagnant.

Go to Joshua 3:13. Notice what happens to the flowing Jordan (the Holy Spirit for us):

Joshua 3:13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.

As for us the priest would be Joshua.

Zechariah 3:1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

This has to be the end-time Elijah. Remember Luke 1:17—he is the only one who can make ready a people prepared for the Lord. In Matthew 17:11, he restores all things and he certainly would be bearing the ark.

As soon as the priests enter Jordan, an invisible Holy Spirit dam is put in place. What is the result? The waters that came down from above are cut off and start to create a huge lake or inland sea.

Did you get what that says to us? After all, it is a prototype. As soon as our high priest Joshua/Elijah steps into the Jordan, the Holy Spirit from above is cut off and just starts to pile up. Remember, living waters flow. The waters left in the Jordan flow away as the invisible Holy Spirit dam goes into place. This is mentioned again in verse 16:

Joshua 3:16 That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho. 17 And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.

The waters from above (heaven) are cut off from the water below. So the humans, the about 120 who make up the foundation of the end-time Church are symbolically cut off from the Holy Spirit as they struggle and flounder in the Jordan on dry ground. Notice in verse 17 that “dry ground” is Strong’s #2724: “a desert:—dry (ground, land).”

This makes Amos 8:11 very easy to understand and notice how verse 12 describes us in the end time, especially if you came through the Worldwide Church of God system:

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: 12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

How long do we struggle in the Jordan? It could be three and a half years but will probably be one year. I will cover this in more detail later in this paper, but we will probably be struggling in the famine for three and a half years.

1 Kings 17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

Remember, we have a spiritual application for all these prototypes and that water represents the Holy Spirit.

So what does 1 Kings 17:1 tell us? That the only source of Holy Spirit activity during this three and a half years is at the end-time Elijah’s word. (His audio tapes, spoken word to individuals, his written word in printed papers or on the inter-net, etc.) Will we believe what God’s word says or not? Luke 1:17 says Elijah is the only one who can make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

After the three and a half years, Elijah prays eight times and the drought ends:

1 Kings 18:43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. 44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. 45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

Remember 1 Corinthians 10:11. This is just a prototype for us to act out in the end time. All this has a spiritual application for us.

This being cut off from the waters above will last one year.  The desert conditions, the famine of hearing the word will last three and a half years for all of us. Then there is this massive outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  [Proof-reading note: Today is December 9th, 1999, and as I put more study into this paper, it seems that this crossing the Jordan is one year and comes on the tail end of the three and a half year famine. The year for a day principle will be covered later in this paper.]

Notice the length of the famine in the original Elijah’s day:

James 5:17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

Going back to Joshua 3:15, notice the last sentence. The Jordan (Holy Spirit for us) overflows all his banks all the time of the harvest. So what is the word for us here? There will be an overflowing of the Holy Spirit during the harvest.

When is the harvest? It is Revelation 7:1-4, 9 & 14. Notice in verses 1 and 4 that the tribulation is held up and 144,000 Israelites are sealed:

Revelation 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands………14….And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The 144,000 of Revelation 14 come from “among men”:

Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads……3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

Revelation 14:4 refers to all mankind, if you want to check it out. This Revelation 14 group of 144,000 includes Peter, Paul, Moses, Abraham and anyone else who qualifies for eternal life before the tribulation is held up.

When the end-time harvest starts, the famine and drought are over and the Holy Spirit will be overflowing its banks. This is mentioned again in Joshua 4:18.  But that’s not to say that each wave of the end-time Christians, as the cry at midnight wakes them, won’t have their own personal entrapment by the Red Sea and their one year struggle in the Jordan.  After all, the Bible, with its prototypes, is written for all the end-time Christians.  Review 1 Corinthians 10:11, covered earlier.

Joshua 4:18 And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD were come up out of the midst of Jordan, and the soles of the priests’ feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.

An example of the Holy Spirit overflowing its banks is found in Acts 2:1-8:

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Is this the condition of the Church today, November 1999? No way. Ask yourself why not?

Keep this concept of the Holy Spirit dam in mind. The waters from above are cut off and this huge inland sea is created by the Holy Spirit dam. There is more to the story. No doubt, many people were made temporarily homeless by this physical Jordan lake or sea.

Now going on to Joshua 4:3, notice that 12 stones were taken out of Jordan where the priest’s feet were. Christ is our High Priest as well as Joshua:

Zechariah 3:1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

“Resist” is Strong’s #7853: “to attack, (fig.) accuse:—(be an) adversary.” Satan will use family, friends, other church members, the world, etc. to attack this man, our high priest. There will be a day that many apologies will be coming his way. We need to be careful that we are not one of Satan’s tools in these attacks. Think about what you say to this man when you think you may have found him.

Notice these 12 stones, which are a way to build. God’s end-time temple has to be built:

Haggai 2:15 And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD: 16 Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty. 17 I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the LORD. 18 Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid, consider it.

“Stone” is Strong’s #68: “through the meaning to build; a stone

Joshua 4:3 And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests’ feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.

In Joshua 4:3, we have 12 special stones. These stones equal a way to build that Christ will use. This is fruit coming out of the Jordan as we struggle there. Christ chooses 12 special men, and I assume these are men because there were 12 apostles in our prototype, the New Testament Church. There will be a lot more on these 12 stones later in this paper.

Why won’t it be the same in the end-time Church? Is 1 Corinthians 10:11 true or not?

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

These 12 men are part of the foundation:

Zechariah 4:9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.

And I repeat, this foundation no doubt was laid inadvertently by the John 1:23 method.

John 1:23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

1 Kings 18:31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:

Isn’t this curious? “Stones” here again is Strong’s #68  (review definition above) and they were used to build an altar. Joshua 4:7 is for us today. These stones (humans) will go down in Bible history just like the 12 original apostles.

Joshua 4:7 Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

Joshua 4:14 On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

As time goes on, God will reveal to us, the lay members, who this Joshua/Elijah character and the 12 stones are. To recognize them, we will have to rightly divide the word of truth.

Joshua 4:9 And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.

Haggai 2:19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

Move on to 1 Kings 18 and see how Ahab, Elijah, the drought and Jezreel all fit into this end-time scenario.

There was a severe drought and famine going on as prophesied by Elijah:

1 Kings 17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

For us today, this famine is described in Amos 8:11-12 as mentioned earlier. This famine is also described in Haggai:

Haggai 1:10 Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit. 11 And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.

Haggai is an end-time book. Read my paper on it. The results of this drought are mentioned in Haggai 2:16.

Haggai 2:16 Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty.

Isn’t Amos 8:11-12 a major indictment against your favorite minister, if you have one? Many of the virgins see the evils of the hierarchy system and have divorced it. I certainly have. Ezekiel adds to the indictment.

Amo 8:11  Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

12  And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

Ezekiel 34:3 Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock. 4 The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them. 5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

Remember, the Bible is written to us, end-time Christians upon whom the end of the world (age) has come (1 Corinthians 10:11).

Back in 1 Kings 18:19, Elijah is taking on all of Satan’s ministry of that time—850 total:

1 Kings 18:19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table. 20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel. 21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Verse 21 is what the end-time Elijah will say to us. “When will you make up your minds? If God is God, follow Him! If Satan is God, follow him!”

Remember, the end-time churches are warned about a church of Satan right in our midst:

Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

We will have to make up our minds—which will it be? We need to be reminded at this point of Luke 1:17. Elijah is the only one who can make ready a people prepared for the Lord. As we go through this Elijah account in 1 Kings 18 it will help us to understand it more clearly.

1 Kings 18:30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down. 31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:

The altar is broken down in verse 31 and Elijah takes 12 “stones.” Remember what Elijah did physically here, we will act out spiritually. “Stone” is Strong’s #68: “through the meaning to build; a stone…”

Are these 12 stones part of the foundation of the end-time Church? As mentioned earlier, there were 12 apostles in the New Testament Church, our prototype. No doubt, there will be 12 in the end-time Church also.

“Altar” is Strong’s #4196: “an altar.” Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study Old Testament says “altar” is “a place of sacrifice…”  Does this give some indication as to the life style these 12 men will endure from that day on? Could it be that they will be slaughtered, eventually, in God’s service? Or could it be that God is preparing this 12-man altar to do a great spiritual slaughter of Satan’s people, or both? We will slaughter spiritually with the sword of the Spirit:

Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Keep in mind that all 850 of Satan’s ministers were slaughtered in this account.

Elijah will have deputies in the end time. Why? Because the work load is too great for one man. You figure it—in Revelation 7:1-4, 144,000 Israelites are sealed. Plus, in verses 9 and 14 you see this great multitude that comes from all nations. You do the math. The need for help is great and God saw that as far back as Haggai. Notice Haggai 1:14.

Haggai 1:14 And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in thehouse of the LORD of hosts, their God,

“Stirred” is Strong’s #5782 meaning “[…through the idea of opening the eyes]; to wake (lit. or fig.)…”

“Remnant” is Strong’s #7611 meaning, “a remainder or residual (surviving, final) portion:—that had escaped…” Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study Old Testament adds, “It is a remainder, a remnant, a residue, survivors (especially after a slaughter)…” I ask, has there been a slaughter in the Worldwide Church of God?

“Work” is Strong’s #4399 meaning, “deputyship…” Zodhiates says, “The principle meaning is deputyship…”

“House” is Strong’s #1004 meaning, “a house (in the greatest variety of applications, especially family, etc.)…”

If I may ask the question, was there a slaughter of Christians in the Worldwide Church of God? Can we start to see how the Bible is written for us, with all these prototypes? Are these 12 men representing the altar going to be thespear head of the deputies? I believe this could be said of the original 12 apostles.  There will be a lot more detail about the 12 stones (men) later in this paper.

Continuing in 1 Kings 18:36, the end-time Elijah will pray a similar prayer once we get across Jordan. This will be the time when God starts to magnify Joshua/Elijah:

1 Kings 18:36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

Joshua 4:14 On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

In 1 Kings 18:37, this prayer continues. The people mentioned here are the end-time virgins. Our hearts are turned once we start waking from our sleep and slumbering:

1 Kings 18:37 Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

In 1 Kings 18:39, the people finally get it.

1 Kings 18:38 Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.

“People” here is the same as in verse 37. It is Strong’s #5971: “a people, as a congregated unit…”

The end of the drought and famine is found in 1 Kings 18:41-46. This is a physical prototype written for us with a spiritual application to be acted out.

1 Kings 18:41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. 42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, 43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea.

46 And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

To refresh our memories a little, water is a type of the Holy Spirit and it flows. Remember Revelation 22:1 and the woman at the well who spoke with Christ. Also remember that in the end time we are all asleep (Matthew 25:5) and there is a famine of hearing the word (Amos 8:11). Also in the process of crossing the Jordan, we are cut off from the waters that come down from above (Joshua 4:6).

God’s true Church is sick and dying. Many of the end-time virgins are standing at death’s door, physically as well as spiritually. It is going to take a great pouring out of the Holy Spirit to make things right.

1 Kings 18:41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

Elijah tells Ahab (who represents Satan) that there is an abundance of water coming. Why do I say Ahab represents Satan? Notice 1 Kings 21:20 & 25:

1 Kings 21:20 And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.

1 Kings 21:25 But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.

The words “sold” and “sell” are the same Strong’s #4376: “to sell, lit. (as merchandise, a daughter in marriage, into slavery), or fig. (to surrender)…”

God said there was none like Ahab to be wicked. Isn’t Satan the king of wickedness in the whole cosmos? In all the heavens and the earth, there is none like Satan.

In verse 42, Elijah begins a series of eight prayers. In verse 43, why did Elijah have to pray eight times? Because 8 has spiritual significance to us.  Have you always heard that Elijah prayed seven prayers? My daughter pointed this out a couple of days ago.  I’d never even picked up on the fact that is was 8 prayers.

Just a word to the wise, you had better be happy and rejoice when truth comes your way, regardless of the source.  God chooses who he uses to point things out to us.  We have no choice in the matter.  We are then judged by what we do with it, Revelation 20:12.

Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Let’s go deeper into I Kings 18:43.  The first thing you notice is that it doesn’t say that Elijah prayed eight times.  This is where we have to rightly divide the word of truth.

In verse 42, this term “cast himself down” is Strong’s # 1457 = “to prostrate ones self…”  So there is no question that he prayed once you throw in James 5:17 and also notice the results of the remainder of 1 Kings 18.

James 5:17  Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

Notice how this is worded in verse 43, and by the way, servant is not what we normally think of as a servant. “Servant” is Strong’s # 5288 = “from #5287; (concr.) a boy (as active), from the age of infancy to adolescence; by impl. a servant; also (by interch. of sex), a girl (of similar latitude in age):-babe, boy, child, damsel [from the marg.], lad, servant, young (man).

Notice that this young person is a male or female.  He/she is told to go look once.  So, he/she went and looked and saw nothing. Then a seven part series started, and seven and one makes eight. The prayer was answered on the last time of the seven part series.

So it behooves us to look at the number eight and see what God’s message to us is.  Eight in the Hebrew Old Testament is Strong’s # 8083 = “appar. from 8082 through the idea of plumpness; a cardinal number, eight (as if a surplus above the “perfect” seven); also (as ordinal) eighth:-eight ([-een, -eenth]), eighth.”

Now consider in light of this definition that there are 8 days that we spend at the Feast of Tabernacles.  The eighth day is over and above the seven.  It’s like it adds a plumpness or a surplus to the perfect seven just completed when we observe the eighth day.

Physically, most of us are a little plumper by the time the eighth day comes; “The Last Great Day” as it is called.

It’s not in vain that Elijah prayed eight times here. Notice the results in verse 45.  There was a great rain. For us in the end time, the spiritual application is in Joshua 3:15, 4:18.  There will be a great overflowing of the Holy Spirit for the end-time harvest, which is found in Revelation 7:1-4, 9,14.

Also, the eight prayers that Elijah prayed are no doubt connected to or represent the eight miracles he did, found in the following verses: 1 Kings 17:1, 1 Kings 17:14-16, 1 Kings 17-17-23, 1 Kings 18:37-38, 1 Kings 18:41-45, 2 Kings 1:10, 2 Kings 1:12, and 2 Kings 2:8.

It’s also interesting that Elisha wanted a double portion of the Spirit, 2 Kings 2:19, and he did sixteen miracles.  The last of which was done after he was dead:

2 Kings 13:20 And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year. 21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

1 Kings 18:42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, 43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

Apparently, during or right after the seventh prayer in that series, the first was by itself, results started to happen.

1 Kings 18:44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

A little cloud like a man’s hand rose out of the sea. Is this the sea of Holy Spirit that is created by the Holy Spirit dam, put in place while we struggle in the Jordan? Remember, we were cut off from the waters which come down from above:

Joshua 3:16 That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.

Since living water, (Holy Spirit) is active and flows, this flowing of the Holy Spirit symbolized by the Jordan continued and rose up in a heap. So here we have the sea of Holy Spirit heaped up, symbolized by what the Jordan actually did.

Continuing with 1 Kings 18:44, why did this little cloud which started to come up out of the sea look like a man’s hand? “Hand” is Strong’s #3709: “the hollow hand or palm…” Does Isaiah 40:12 offer us a clue?

Isaiah 40:12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

Is God telling us He is in complete control of both the Living and physical waters—that they are both in His hand? In verse 45, a great storm brewed and there was a great rain:

1 Kings 18:45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

“Great” is Strong’s #1419: “great in any sense…”

A great flood of waters came out of the heavens. Will there be a great flood of the Holy Spirit coming out of heaven to drench the virgins once we get across Jordan? Why not? We, the Church, are exhausted in this spiritual famine:

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

Only half of Psalms 103:2-3 is being applied to us, and you could seriously ask the question: how do we know the first half is being applied like it will after the flood of the Holy Spirit is unleashed on us?

Psalms 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Remember, we are in the desert spiritually as our forefathers were physically:

Joshua 3:17 And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.

“Dry ground” is Strong’s #2724 meaning, “a desert…”

Joshua 3:13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.

Joshua 3:16 That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.

Since we were cut off from the waters (Holy Spirit) that come down from above, that leaves us in a spiritual desert.

Before we finish up with 1 Kings 18:46, I want to digress a bit. Will there be a literal sick woman who is standing at death’s door? Will this woman be anointed by this end-time Elijah person and be healed? Will she represent the sickChurch of God who is literally at death’s door spiritually? Will this Elijah person have to pray eight times and with the seventh prayer in that series, pour olive oil (which represents the Holy Spirit) over her head? Will the pouring of olive oil on the sick woman begin the outpouring of Holy Spirit on this sick Church? We need to watch and see how this develops. There will be more on this subject.

In all probability, the 120 foundation will struggle for  three and a half years in the famine of the word. The last year will be in crossing the Jordan. Remember, the drought and famine in Ahab’s day lasted three and a half years:

James 5:17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

Is this not a prototype for us?

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Now onto 1 Kings 18:46—notice what happens here. Finally, Satan is restrained. If you are one of the “about 120” foundation Christians you will, in hindsight, see how Satan shut down and smashed everything you attempted spiritually. Your spiritual understanding was more or less locked down, as Satan did his dirty work during this three and a half year famine of the word.

I have sat stunned in amazement many times at how Satan locks down minds as I present them with a point of truth. I could give you many names, but I won’t. Notice that the Holy Spirit energized Elijah’s strength and he outran Ahab to Jezreel. Why? What on earth for? Why did God do this?

1Ki 18:46  And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

I am sure that Satan has had a free hand to resist this Joshua/Elijah character for at least three and a half years. Remember what it said in Zechariah 3:1.

Zechariah 3:1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

You can bet the ranch that this has spilled right over onto all of the “about 120” of the foundation Church. Here in 1 Kings 18:46, righteousness (symbolized by Elijah) pulls out in front of wickedness (Satan) symbolized by Ahab.

What does “Jezreel” mean? It is Strong’s #3157 meaning, “God will sow…” So Elijah beats Ahab (Satan) to the entrance of “God will sow” (Jezreel). Why does it say “entrance?” This is the time that Elijah enters into the sowing aspect of his work, which is actually done by God through Elijah and his deputies.

Now go back to Haggai 2:19 and the pomegranate tree:

Haggai 2:19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

Remember, I said we would deal with the pomegranate later. Now it is time to look at the pomegranate. Notice that it is mentioned as not having brought forth fruit.

The pomegranate is saturated with seeds. Webster’s Dictionary says it is “an apple having many seeds.” Elijah is the pomegranate tree mentioned in Haggai 2:19.

So Elijah, this pomegranate tree with an abundance of seeds, beats Satan to the entrance, not down-town, of “God will sow” (Jezreel). So here we see plainly that we will enter into a time of sowing with God using this pomegranate tree, Elijah, to sow the seeds. These are seeds that wake up the sleeping virgins:

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

These seeds will also end the famine of the word:

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

As we have seen, God will send a deluge of the Holy Spirit to start to heal His sick and dying Church. And I’m strongly convinced that a sick and dying woman will be healed somewhere in Israel.

Remember Luke 1:17: Elijah is the only one who can make ready a people prepared for the Lord. Matthew 17:11 tells us he restores all things. That’s these seeds represented by the pomegranate tree.

Today is the Sabbath of the 9th month and 26th day, December 4th, 1999. The 9th month and 24th day (December 2nd, 1999) that I have been speaking and writing about for many months now, has come and gone.

It was among one of the most discouraging days of my entire life. There was no indication of any Holy Spirit activity on that day. As a matter of fact, there were two incidents of things staying as they were. Both included demon activity. One of which I will recount briefly.

It was a beautiful, bright, sunny day here in Colorado. There was no reason that my cell phone shouldn’t work from the job site where I was. But lo and behold it wouldn’t. Sometimes on days with heavy snow or thick, low clouds the phone will not work. I would dial the number and it would never ring, but the time would begin adding up. So, I rebuked the demon in the name of Jesus Christ in a very irritated voice, and it worked perfectly when I made a call just seconds later.

A sick and dying woman was not healed as I expected. A friend of our family has been at death’s door for many months now. I fully expected her to be anointed and healed on this 9th month and 24th day, December 2, 1999. What right do I have to expect this? Haggai 2:19 is the reason. I’m convinced that a sick woman, like her, represents the sick and dying church, standing at the spiritual death’s door. I am also convinced there are others like her who are among God’s people.

Jesus Christ and the Father are not giving what is promised in Psalms 103:2-3. Can we make excuses for God and Christ? Can we reason it away?

Psalms 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

No, the fact is it’s not being done. Where are the healings? There is a reason why no healings are being done.

I was overwhelmed with discouragement. When, oh when, are things going to change? For four years, starting in the 9th month, I have been challenging people with Biblical truth that I have been learning since Passover of 1995 when my wife and I left WCG. No one has disproved from the Bible anything that I have written.

But the rejection was complete even down to part of my family for a period of time. But now that’s mostly in the past. There are just three women here in the Denver Metro area that have any fellowship with my family to this day.

The discouragement was overwhelming. It felt as if I were being punished for teaching God’s true word. As I mentioned before, no one has disproved from their Bible, in writing, anything that I have taught. And on top of that, I’m a general contractor and I build mostly speculation houses. I haven’t sold a house since November 30th, 1998. That makes a year and four days since I’ve had a payday.

During the year of 1999, I’ve earned about $40,000 as a stone mason, which was my former trade. I’ve collected $33,000, and this is not all profit. A lot of expenses come out of these numbers. The remainder could be collected if needed. It is in the budget of one of the houses we have under construction which, by the way, is moth balled. We have a $600,000 house, ready to be lived in since early August of this year, which hasn’t sold. It just sits there and eats up interest money. And as of today, there is no relief in sight.

Why am I saying all this? Because it has to do with my crossing Jordan as well as my wife and family. I have to produce $5,000 per month just to keep from getting repossessed, as my wife just works in our business and has no income of her own. But God has provided a way for me to meet my expense of $5,000 per month, which I became aware of on the 25th day of the 9th month, after I started wondering and asking God, “Where is my way of escape as promised in I Corinthians 10:13?”

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

My way of escape is tied to our IRAs and the “fictitious” money they produce. My wife calls this money “fictitious” because it is in the Janus fund which is invested in the Stock Market. There are two funds, one about ten years old and the other is about twelve years old. They are producing about $7,500 per month in the stock market, which will pay our interest bills, penalty and taxes. As long as the Stock Market doesn’t go belly up, we’ll be O.K. And the promise in Haggai 2:19, which I claim personally, and you should too, may include the sale of this house in the near future.

Haggai 2:19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

I’m not overly concerned with that right now, after researching into it. This house is the 40th one that my wife and I have built for sale. It’s not hard to see God’s hand in this, and that is very reassuring to me and I count it as a major blessing that’s come since the 9th month and 24th day.

What has your life been like for the last three years or so? This will be important to you in hind-sight, especially the last year since Passover if you are one of the 120 foundation members of God’s end-time work.

As covered earlier in this paper, this end-time famine lasted 3 1/2 years. Elijah prayed 8 times and water came from above.

James 5:17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

But back to the question above: What has your life been like for the last three years or so? The promise in Haggai 2:19 is for you, especially if you came thru the WCG system.

Notice Haggai 2:2. This prophecy is addressed to a certain person and group of people as I have covered many times and earlier in this paper. Zerubbabel and Joshua are hats that the end-time Elijah wears.

Haggai 2:2 Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,

Who is this residue? “Residue” is Strong’s #7611, and it is the same word as “remnant” in Haggai 1:14: “Remnant” is Strong’s #7611 meaning, “a remainder or residual (surviving, final) portion:—that had escaped…” Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study Old Testament adds, “It is a remainder, a remnant, a residue, survivors (especially after a slaughter)…”  As I have asked many times, was there a spiritual slaughter in the WCG?

To put it briefly, Haggai Ch. 2 is a promise to you and this end time Elijah person.

If there has been a spiritual slaughter in some other Church of God, I’m not aware of it. There’s a promise to you in Haggai 2:19 that started to take hold at sunset on the 25th day of the 9th month.

Haggai 2:19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

Let’s take another look at Haggai 2:19. Notice that the promise is tacked onto the end of the verse. What does the rest of the verse consist of? The Christian fruit production system of seed, vines, trees, Holy Spirit, etc. Can’t we only infer that the main blessing will be in the spiritual area?

Also, any sorely needed physical blessings, such as healing for health problems, will be helped as needed. The deterioration of human health can be put on hold until they are healed. Maybe that will be put on hold until we can get out of the Jordan and the Holy Spirit can start flowing again.

I have mentioned earlier in this paper, that this crossing might take up the three and a half years, but since December 2, I have been gaining more understanding of God’s word. Notice Joshua 4:19. This 10th day of the 1st month could be a very significant day. If prototypes are true, then this is the day we get out of the Jordan. I am now convinced that it is a one-year struggle and the last part of the three and a half years of famine—the famine of the word mentioned in Amos:

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: 12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

Joshua 4:19 And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.

Whatever year this happens, Satan would be forced to release a group of end-time Christians at Passover time. If this is true, then the “year for a day” principle comes into play here.

As near as I can tell from the account, all the ancient Israelites crossed over the Jordan in one day. If this is true, this was one big movement of humans. There must have been several million people involved.

But back to the “year for a day” in prophecy. This is found in Numbers 13:25, Numbers 14:33, Ezekiel 4:5 and, no doubt, in at least one other place concerning Christ’s three and a half year ministry and a verse in Daniel, but that’s a complicated study.

Numbers 13:25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.

Numbers 14:33 And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.

Ezekiel 4:5 For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. 6 And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.

I was thoroughly convinced that dramatic things would happen on the 9th month and 24th day, but they didn’t. What I mean by “dramatic” is our friend, or some other woman who is at death’s door, being healed.

Joshua 4:19 And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.

Then the Jordan, which represents the Holy Spirit, returns to its normal flow, which is overflowing during the time of the harvest:

Joshua 3:15 And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)

Then the end-time harvest will start. The “about 120” foundation of the church has to be laid first. Remember 1 Corinthians 10:11 and prototypes. The New Testament Church foundation was “about 120.”

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Acts 1:15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty)

I know of some cases where a spiritual blessing in the form of waking up and having a clearer understanding of God’s word is needed in order to take care of some urgent physical needs.

[Today is December 25, 1999 and it is becoming clearer to me that all of us are going to have to spend some time growing between now and when we come up out of the Jordan on the 1st month and 10th day. This is the reason there is a lag time between the time when the laying of the foundation is finished on the 9th month and 24th day and the building of the temple.

We must all grow spiritually—this is certainly true for me. My attitude has been less than perfect in these weeks since December 2, 1999. We have to wake up from our spiritual sleep and recognize the demon influence in our lives and start to produce the Holy Spirit fruit. That is the reason this promise is connected to the end of Haggai 2:19 where the whole verse talks of the Holy Spirit production.]

As mentioned a few pages back, we are in a three and a half year famine of the word, Amos 8:11-12. Notice how verse 12 points the finger at the remnant of WCG.

Doesn’t the WCG keep on fragmenting into ever smaller groups as we run to and fro looking for the Holy Spirit?

In 1 Kings 18, this is ended when Elijah prays eight times and there is a massive outpouring of the Holy Spirit. It was rain in Elijah’s time. Water is a type of the Holy Spirit. So, one year of this three and a half years is spent in theJordan, as we will see in hind sight, after the 1st month and the 10th day.

I’m sure as we get closer to Passover and our understanding grows as a result of the Haggai 2:19 blessing, that there will be significant understanding coming to us about the 10th day of the 1st month, since that was the day our forefathers had to choose their lambs. But what was our spiritual food during the three and a half years of famine, which includes one year in the Jordan cut off from the waters that come down from above:

Joshua 3:13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.

1 Kings 17:1 gives us the answer: no rain or dew. We, the end-time Christians, have a spiritual application of this:

1 Kings 17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

Don’t forget the prototype principle of 1 Corinthians 10:11. “Examples” means “prototypes.” The nation of Israel and Elijah were living out the physical scenario that we have to live out spiritually. 1 Kings 17:1 is very clear once we understand this principle.

The end time application is this: there is no Holy Spirit, Living Water activity (rain or dew) except at the end-time Elijah’s word. Remember Luke 1:17. No other can make us ready for the kingdom.

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Continuing in 1 Kings 17:1, “according to my word” it says. His written word, audio word, home pages, tapes, papers, or if we are fortunate enough to know him personally, his words of spiritual understanding to us in conversation.

So, what happens once we get out of this desert of the symbolic Jordan, Joshua 3:17?

Joshua 3:17 And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.

“Dry ground” is Strong’s #2724: “fem. of 2720; a desert :-dry (ground, land).”

It will be obvious in hindsight once we get out of the Jordan to see that we were in a spiritual desert these last three and a half years, especially the one year in crossing.

Remember, the Jordan, which represents the Holy Spirit, Living Waters, moves and flows. Once we get out, the “about 120,” the Holy Spirit, or Jordan, returns to it’s normal flowing pattern:

Joshua 3:15 And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)

This normal pattern is overflowing its banks at the time of the harvest. So the end time harvest starts.

As I have mentioned many times, don’t confuse the Revelation 7:1-4, “144,000” with the Revelation 14 “144,000.” The Revelation 7 group is Israelites and the Revelation 14 group comes from humanity in general.

“Earth” is Strong’s #1093: “soil; by extens. a region, or the solid part or the whole of the terrene globe (include. the occupants in each application):—country, earth (-ly), ground, land, world.”

“Men” is Strong’s #444: “manfaced, i.e. a human being:—certain, man.”

So, this 144,000 comes from mankind in general and this number will no doubt be complete when the tribulation is held up for the sealing of the 144,000 Israelites. Review Revelation 7:1-3 above on that thought. Notice in Revelation 7:1-3 how they are identified.

The much smaller harvest of the New Testament Church era was our prototype in this. Can we conclude anything other than the Holy Spirit overflowing its banks at that time? All the many miracles that were performed by the apostles and no doubt many lay members. Are we seeing the same today? Absolutely not!

The healings in Psalms 103:2-3 are not happening along with the many other miracles that were done then. The Church of God is sick and dying, so are many of its members, both physically and spiritually.

Psalms 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

It is haunting, eerie; maybe chilling is a better word to me. Our friend’s liver failed, probably about 3 years ago. She even had a transplant in the late summer of this year (1999). Doesn’t the liver cleanse the blood? Is there a connection that we are cut off from the waters that come down from above while we are in this three and a half year famine, with spiritual death conditions at our door, especially the one year that we are spiritually struggling and floundering in the Jordan?

Joshua 3:13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.

Are we being cleansed in Christ’s blood the way we should? Is our friend representing a sick and dying church that is not being cleansed in the blood the way it should be?

I have asked this before and I will ask it again about Psalms 103:2-3. It is obvious that Christ and the Father are not doing the last half of the promise: healing our diseases. The question is, can we seriously think the other half is being done to the degree it will after we get out of the Jordan? How could it be if Matthew 25:5 is true? We are sleep-walking with Christ.

Psalms 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

If God is winking at or overlooking our ignorance, it tells me that we are not getting the full benefit of forgiveness either and are cut off from many blessings because of it:

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Another acquaintance is dying of stomach cancer. This is very haunting and chilling, and makes me dig deep into my thought process about the Holy Spirit. Isn’t it strange that he is losing weight and cannot digest food? Is he living out physically what the Church is doing spiritually? Is the Church dying of spiritual stomach cancer that Satan has given to us? Are we losing spiritual weight because Satan has put us to sleep (and God allowed this)?

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

We cannot digest the spiritual food while we are cut off from the waters above, (Joshua 3:13) and are struggling in this desert.

A famine always causes severe physical problems. Amos 8:11-12 is a spiritual application. God sent the famine and verse 12 certainly applies to the remnant that came out of WCG.

Are these verses a severe indictment of your favorite minister or teacher (if you have one)? Their teaching leads to the famine. As time goes on, more an more people are divorcing the hierarchy system with its dictatorial ministers.

Here’s some food for thought along the line of prototypes: We are all asleep, Matthew 25:5. We all have to wake up and symbolically come out of Egypt. This spiritual awakening from the spiritual sleep we are in happens when we receive our cry at midnight, Matthew 25:6. We then start to trim our lamps, Matthew 25:7.

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

“Trimmed” is Strong’s #2885: “from 2889; to put in proper order, i.e. decorate (lit. or fig.); spec. to snuff (a wick):-adorn, garnish, trim.”

As we do this, we come out of Egypt. There’s no doubt that all the saved virgins will have to complete the crossing of the symbolic Jordan. This one- year experience starts when Satan is forced to release you at Passover time and ends when you come up out of Jordan on the 10th day of the 1st month of the next year. This will happen wave after wave, year by year, until the harvest is complete:

Joshua 4:19 And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.

Many of the foolish virgins will probably lose it in this crossing of the Jordan.

How many will actually wake up and start across? If prototypes are true, Exodus 12:37-38 gives us an indication.

Exodus 12:37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children. 38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.

Notice there were about 600,000 men. We would have to assume that there was about the same number of women. The children’s number could be anyone’s guess.

Aren’t we all children in God’s sight? Does the mixed multitude in Exodus 12:38 represent the multitude described in Revelation 7:9, 14?

Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

If prototypes are true in this case, it’s obvious that there will be several million virgins who will have to be dealt with.

This shows the need for Haggai 1:14.

“Stirred” is Strong’s #5782 meaning “[…through the idea of opening the eyes]; to wake (lit. or fig.)…”

“Remnant” is Strong’s #7611 meaning, “a remainder or residual (surviving, final) portion:—that had escaped…” Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study Old Testament adds, “It is a remainder, a remnant, a residue, survivors (especially after a slaughter)…” I ask again, has there been a slaughter in the Worldwide Church of God?

“Work” is Strong’s #4399 meaning, “deputyship…” Zodhiates says, “The principle meaning is deputyship…”

“House” is Strong’s #1004 meaning, “a house (in the greatest variety of applications, especially family, etc.)…”

Notice the word “work” means “deputyship.” It is completely impossible for the end-time Elijah to go one-on-one with that many people.

The enormous size of the end-time harvest brings up a thought in the scriptures we need to revisit—the twelve stones that come out of the Jordan. This paper is dealing primarily with the “about 120” of Acts 1:15, the foundation of the end-time church and the severe trials that many of us are going through.

Acts 1:15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty)

The enormity of these trials and pressures won’t be accessible to others of this 120 in similar circumstance until we can get together and compare notes in hindsight. These 120 may be scattered in many different parts of the world.

Let’s revisit the twelve stones with the end-time harvest in mind. Remember, we have a spiritual application of the physical prototype. In Joshua 4:2-3, there is to be one man from each tribe to carry a stone from the midst of theJordan where the priests stood.

Joshua 4:2 Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man. 3 And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests’ feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.

“Stone” is Strong’s #68: “through the meaning to build; a stone…”

For us in the end time, these 12 stones represent 12 men who will come through the Jordan and no doubt are in this one-year trial. They are the end-time fulfillment of the 12 apostles of the early New Testament Church. The NewTestament Church is our prototype. They are a means through which Christ will build His end-time work. Review the definition of “stone” above.

Did Christ use the original 12 apostles to build with? You bet He did. Here it is, very plain that Christ will use the stones which come out of the Jordan as a method or means to build.

They are a part of the foundation that was laid, then there was a lag time. Notice the term “was laid” in verses 15 and 18:

Haggai 2:15 And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD…18 Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid, consider it. 19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

The blessings start from the 9th month and 24th day. This lag time continues to the 1st month and the 10th day. This was covered a few pages back.

Joshua 4:19 And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.

Notice that these stones came from the feet of the priests. Who is the High Priest? Jesus Christ of course! But we have another High Priest in Zechariah 3:1. It’s Joshua. I’ve said many times that Joshua is one of the hats that Elijah wears. Elijah is the only one who can make ready a people prepared for the Lord:

Zechariah 3:1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Joshua was the one who took the Israelites into the Promised Land. He was the prototype of the end-time Joshua/Elijah who will take us into the spiritual Promised Land.

Why does Christ tell us that these 12 stones came from the place where “the priests’ feet stood?” In other words, “at the priests’ feet.” Acts 22:3 tells us Paul was educated at the feet of Gamaliel. “At the feet” is just a term to distinguish between student and teacher.

Acts 22:3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.

In Zechariah 3:8, these men sit before Joshua. Who could be more wondered at than the 12 end- time apostles, plus the two witnesses who also sit before this end-time Joshua/Elijah. Remember Luke 1:17.

Zechariah 3:8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for

they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Zechariah 3:8 is clearly labeled an end-time verse—look at the last sentence.

Now on to Joshua 4:20.

Joshua 4:20 And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal.

Notice Joshua “pitched” these twelve stones. “Pitch” is Strong’s #6965: ” a prim. root; to rise (in various applications, lit., fig., intens. And caus.)…” Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study Old Testament says it means, “to rise up, establish, strengthen…”

Apparently the original Joshua stacked these rocks in a way that caused them to rise.

Remember, these men who picked up the stones in the Jordan were from each of the 12 tribes. It will be the same today. They could literally come from the end-time nation that is their tribe or Ephraim and Manasseh, or some of the other ones, could have people in them from all 12 tribes because the world today is such a small place comparatively speaking to then.

Now, carrying the end-time thought further, will the end-time Joshua/Elijah recognize these twelve men whom God will start to exalt (remember pitch means “to rise”) and show them their assignments found in Revelation 7:4? Notice these 144,000 come from the 12 tribes of Israel. Remember, the stones (a method to build) that came out of the Jordan were representative of the twelve tribes.

Revelation 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

So, their assignment is “go to your tribe and seal 12,000 of your brothers and sisters.”

Since it is impossible for Elijah to do it all, Haggai 1:14 comes into play. The word “work” means “deputyship.”

Haggai 1:14 And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,

“Work” is Strong’s #4399 meaning, “deputyship…” Zodhiates says, “The principle meaning is deputyship…”

As I have mentioned many times, Zerubbabel is also a hat that the end-time Elijah wears. I will just cover this briefly. The end-time Philadelphians are called “Jews” in Revelation 3:9.

Haggai 1:1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,

Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Zerubbabel is governor of the end-time Jews. Those 12 end-time apostles, being taught by him, are sent out to do their jobs by his understanding of God’s word. This is a good enough example of how this governing will be done. It’s not governing in the way we normally think of it, with someone lording it over others. He would just show them their job and they would go do it.  Elijah points out in the Bible how they do it. There is no hierarchy system. Each person is equally accountable to God in their one-on-one relationship with the Father and Christ.

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

This is one instance of how the foundation of the temple is built on. These 12 will only be leading deputies. All the deputies will have their parts in building the temple. Each person won’t be a mouth, necessarily, and have a full-time job teaching. But there is no doubt that each of us will have opportunities to turn others to righteousness.

Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Remember, we are the temple of God:

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

I have also said a number of times that I feel strongly that all the Philadelphians will be deputies, or all the deputies will be Philadelphian. There may be some Smyrna people also, but the message in Revelation 2 to the SmyrnaChurch seems to indicate that they are away from the wealth of the world and it will take tithe money to do the end-time work. You and I, as individuals, are responsible for how our tithe is spent. Never give God’s tithe money to someone to spend for you. You must have personal input as to how it is spent.

The pomegranate is full of seeds and represents Elijah. “Jezreel” means “God will sow.” Elijah outran Ahab, who represents Satan, to the entrance of “God will sow.” So at this point we are entering the sowing aspect of the end-time work.

There are a few parables I would like to touch on before I conclude this paper. Notice the promise in John 14:12.

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Here “works” is Strong’s #2041: “toil (as an effort or occupation); by impl. an act:—deed, doing, labour, work.” This is some huge promise! Remember 1 Corinthians 10:11—this Bible is written for us.

Notice the word “greater” also. It is Strong’s #3187, meaning “larger…”

Knowing what is recorded in the Bible, the works that Christ did, John 14:12 opens up a lot of possibilities. Look at the parable in John 4:35.

John 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Are these the same instructions and warnings we see in Haggai 1:2?

Haggai 1:2 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD’S house should be built.

“House” is Strong’s #1004: “a house (in the greatest variety of applications, especially family)…”

Is God saying, “Don’t put it off once you come up out of the Jordan on the 1st month and 10th day?”

Joshua 4:19 And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.

I remind you again that the end-time harvest is found in Revelation 7:1-4, 9 and 14.

Matthew 13:38 tells us where the fields are. See how the above scriptures tie together.

Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

Now notice in John 4:36-38 where the deputyship kicks in.

John 4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. 37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. 38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

We, as deputies, reap where Elijah has sown. Remember earlier in this paper Elijah is the pomegranate tree which is full of seeds. “Jezreel” means “God will sow.” Review this if you need to. We, as deputies, will reap where Elijah sows as the pomegranate. But we all, including Elijah, are in fact deputies of Christ. Remember, “Jezreel” means “God will sow.”

Romans 9:27-29 tells us who is in charge:

Romans 9:27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: 28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. 29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

THE MARRIAGE SUPPER

Will you be there? Is there a question mark on your place-card? There seem to be many question marks on many placemats.

Luke 14:24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

There are two parables that deal directly with this end-time beginning-of-the-millennium scenario. There’s a lot of peripheral supporting information. The Bible is written for the end-time Christians:

I Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

Also, Christ makes the statement that nothing is hidden that won’t be revealed:

Matthew 10:26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

The marriage supper takes place at Christ’s return, after the cry at midnight and after Elijah and the two witnesses do their jobs…

Matthew 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

…and after the bride has made herself ready…

Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

This marriage banquet may go on for an extended period of time. Don’t think it will be over in a short time. According to Unger’s Bible Dictionary, under the heading “banquet” there are 6 subheadings, one of which is “time”: “The usual time for holding the banquet was toward evening, corresponding to the dinners of modern times. To begin early was a mark of excess. These festivals were often continued for seven days, especially wedding banquets. But if the bride was a widow, three days was the limit.”

But this is just peripheral compared to the absolute necessity of the situation—the situation is the marriage supper. Let’s suppose there are one million resurrected, saved beings at the marriage supper. There are the 144,000 of Revelation 7, the 144,000 of Revelation 14, plus the innumerable multitude. OK, let’s just do some simple math: there are 1440 minutes in a day, 525,600 minutes in a year. In seven years there are 3,679,200 minutes. If there are one million saved beings at the marriage banquet, this gives each individual of the one million saved 3.7 minutes to spend with Christ. That is 24 hours a day, seven days a week for seven years. We need to change our thinking about these things—this is for real. To me, it seems that 3.7 minutes is a short time for Christ to spend with each saved being, but after all we still have eternity ahead of us.

While these events are taking place, the unsaved are restrained in the environs of this banquet area. Remember the tares are tied in bundles at the harvest, which means “restrained.”

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

The wicked and the just are to be resurrected at the same time:

Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

The five foolish virgins come beating on the door:

Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

Continuing on with Unger’s subheadings, the next one is “invitations.”

“Invitations were sent out through servants sometime previous to the banquet and a later announcement informed the expected guests that the arrangements were complete and their presence was looked for. This after summons was sent only to those who had accepted the previous invitation and to violate that previous invitation for trivial reasons could only be viewed as a gross insult.”

“Etiquette” is the next subheading:

“At a small entrance door a servant received the tablets or cards of the guests who were then conducted to the receiving room. After the whole company had arrived, the master shut the door with his own hand, a signal that no others were to be admitted. The guests were kissed upon their arrival, their feet washed, a custom in ancient Greece and still found here and there in Palestine, the hair and beard were anointed and their places assigned, according to rank. In some cases, each guest was furnished a magnificent garment of a light and showy color and richly embroidered to be worn during the banquet.”

Let’s get into the two parables that deal directly with this marriage supper. We will start with Matthew 22:2:

2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

The parable in Luke 14 deals more directly with the end time, per se. In verse 2 of Matthew 22, God the Father is preparing a marriage supper for His Son. God has provided a continuous supply of servants, in the form of apostles, prophets, judges, etc. This has been an ongoing process since the first converted man, and has continued down through the centuries in an effort to salvage the people whom God has called:

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Notice the parable of the sower:

Matt 13:3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

Christ later explains this parable:

Matthew 13:18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. 19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. 20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. 22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. 23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

These are people God has called—four categories. Three out of the four eventually go bad. In Matthew 22:3-4, God’s “servants” are telling those people who have been called to repent, to “get your act together. God is offering you eternity, a chance to live forever.” What did they do? Notice verses 5-7:

Mat 22:2  The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, 3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. 4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. 5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: 6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them. 7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

What a gross insult! This process was described previously under the subheading “invitation,” by Unger. Notice to what depths a human can go after receiving the Holy Spirit and rejecting it. These people who were called of God, being in one of the four categories of good seed, went so low as to murder God’s servants. Punishment was severe—God takes the part of His people.

I’ll give an example of God taking the part of His people by recounting a personal example of three individual building contractors, myself being a general contractor. I had sub-contracted homes to each of these individuals. The total number of homes subbed out was 21, over a period of years. All three of these individuals were robbing me blind. All three in turn were fired, but then God took a hand in it. One individual lost everything, his whole business, and was working in a building supply store. The other two lost most everything, (business-wise, but not their homes) down to the point of both becoming general laborers doing framing. As of spring 1998, all three were on the rebound to some degree. Evidently God just punishes, then let’s nature take its course. In this case, the punishment didn’t last for more than 2-4 years.

Back to Matthew 22:8:

8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

Apparently, three out of four of the good seed the Father called rejected the calling.

Now, a bit of digression, because this can be confusing if you don’t understand that there are two separate groups of 144,000. In Revelation 7, the tribulation is held up so one group can be sealed:

Rev 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

This group of 144,000 is alive at the end time. In addition, a group that no man can number, of Revelation 7:9 and 14, are also alive at this point and have obtained their salvation at the end time:

Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

14….And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Where do Moses, Abraham, Isaac, and David fit into this scenario? They are not alive at the end time. They are in the 144,000 of Revelation 14, redeemed from among men:

Rev. 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

This is the 144,000 that the parable in Matthew 22 is dealing with:

Matthew 22:2  The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. 9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. 11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

These people qualified as they lived and died and are “put in storage,” so to speak. Notice Revelation 6:9-11:

9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Any true Christian who dies before the end-time events will be in this group of 144,000 with all the ancient patriarchs.

Back to Matthew 22:

9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

In this verse, God makes another effort. He sends His servants out into the mainstream of society—the grass roots, the general way of life areas, not specialized segments of society. “Highway” is Strong’s #3598. According to Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study New Testament, it means “a road in which one travels…” Strong’s Lexicon says of this word: “A road, by impl. a progress (the route, act or distance). Fig. a mode or means…”

It was just as it is today: there are good and bad out in mainstream society—“good” by human standards. In a cross section of mainstream society today, some would measure up to God’s standards better than others. At the marriage banquet we will see and understand how Matthew 22:11 applies:

11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

I do not know how a person could gain entrance without the proper attire. Back to Unger’s under the sub-heading “etiquette”: “In some cases each guest was furnished a magnificent garment of light and showy color, richly embroidered to be worn during the banquet.” Revelation 6:11 shows what the saved will wear:

11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Matthew 22:12-13 shows the conversation between the man and Christ. The conversation was one-sided, because Christ did all the talking—the man was speechless. The punishment is shown in verse 13 and is “outer darkness,” which is equivalent to death. What can be darker than the darkness of death to a human? No wonder there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth if this banquet goes on for 7 years! All the unsaved have time to contemplate their short, physical lives. Remember the five foolish virgins came pounding on the door:

Matthew 22:11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. 13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Matthew 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

Their time limit on repentance had run out. (Read my article Time Limit on Repentance) Matthew 22:14 should fill us with alarm and fear, as we see how it applies to the preceding verses:

“Many” is Strong’s #4183, and means “much (in any respect), many, largely…” Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study Dictionary says of “many”: “Much of number, quantity, amount…”

The word “few” is Strong’s #3641, meaning “puny (in extent, degree, number, duration, or value)…”

Webster’s II New Collegiate Dictionary says of “puny”: “inferior in strength, size, or importance.”

Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study Dictionary says of the same word “few” : “small or little, the opposite of Strong’s #4183…, the word for ‘many’.”

Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary says of “few”: “used of number, quantity, and size. Denotes few, little, small or slight…” This should certainly make us tremble at the word of God and be highly alarmed that God has to call many to get a few. To get 144,000, how many million did the Father and Christ have to sift through? This surely makes me tremble at God’s word.

Now to the parable in Luke 14:

16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: 17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. 18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. 20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. 22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. 23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

The first thing we need to notice about this parable is the time frame. It is clearly speaking of the end time. Notice verse 17 says “at supper time.” Also notice that “servant” is singular. This is a one-man show with God the Father calling the shots. If you review the parable of the wedding banquet (Matthew 22) you will see that the word “servants” is used (notice “servants” is plural). The “servants” were dealing with the 144,000 of Revelation 14 down through the centuries. In Revelation 14:4, these people were redeemed from among men:

Revelation 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

The 144,000 of Revelation 7:4 come from the 12 tribes of Israel. The tribulation is held up so this can be accomplished:

How do I back up my statement that the parable of the marriage supper is a one-man show at the end time, with God guiding and directing the man (servant) in everything? (In Luke 14:16-24, notice the word “servant” is singular). This will be a lengthy digression, but very important:

Malachi 4:5 contains a promise to send Elijah before Christ’s return:

5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Luke 1:17 is also a promise regarding Elijah:

17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Matthew 17:10-13 also is referring to Elijah:

10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? 11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. 12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. 13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

As you will see, these are references to the end-time Elijah. Notice his job is “to make ready a people prepared for the Lord” (Luke 1:17). This is a one-man show.

Matthew 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Now read the words of Christ in Matthew 17 again for a closer look:

Matthew 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.

7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. 8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.

9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.

Notice verses 2-3.  James, Peter, and John saw a vision of the resurrection. The disciples understood that Elijah would come before the coming of Christ. What they didn’t understand was that Elijah would precede both comings of Christ. They only expected the fighting, conquering Christ, not the suffering Christ. Notice the question they ask in Acts 1:6 after Christ’s resurrection:

6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

However, it IS for the end-time virgins to know the times and seasons, because the Bible was written for them:

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Now, back to Matthew 17:

In verse 11, Christ says Elijah will surely come first and restore all things. John the Baptist was dead and in the grave at this point. Yet, Christ is making the promise that Elijah would come. What did He say in verse 12? That Elijah had come already, and wasn’t recognized, but was murdered instead. And likewise He, Christ, would suffer by their own hands and be murdered also—the suffering Christ.

In verse 13, the disciples finally understand. In these four verses, Christ refers to John the Baptist and Elijah together. And for sure the end-time Elijah won’t be recognized by many, because the foolish virgins will be looking for miracles. But John the Baptist did no miracle:

John 10:41 And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.

Will it be the same with the end-time Elijah? If the way Christ blends the two together in Matthew 17:10-13 means anything, maybe it will, and maybe it won’t be the same. But, beware of Satan’s counterfeits…they will be doing miracles. Luke 1:17 indicates that the end-time Elijah will be doing miracles because he comes in the “spirit and power of Elijah.”  Notice, in John 10:41 (above) that John the Baptist did no miracle, but the original Elijah did many miracles.

Luke 14:16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: 17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

This great supper is for the marriage of the Lamb:

Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Many have been called, but not chosen—yet. But in the process of being chosen, as the Tribulation is being held up in Revelation 7 for this reason, He sends His servant in verse 17 (not servants), at supper time. This equals the end time. To say to those that have been bidden, or called:

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

This is the after summons spoken of in Unger’s Bible Dictionary. It was only sent to those who accepted the first invitation. In this case, the last two categories of good seed—the seed among thorns, and the good seed—they both had born some fruit.

Continuing to quote Unger’s: “…to violate this acceptance, this after summons, for trivial reasons should only be viewed as a gross insult.” The rest of the seed among thorns and the five foolish virgins reject God’s final invitation to the marriage supper. The reasons they give for refusing would definitely be considered trivial to God. As they reject the servant God sends at the end time (verses 18-20), the cares of the world sweep them away, and they reject Elijah for whatever reason: he’s not the minister of their choice, he’s ugly or unrefined, he’s crude, he’s not politically correct… On and on the list of reasons will go as people miss their callings—as the five foolish virgins go back to sleep.

Apparently, Elijah prays about the situation in verse 20. Notice “servant” is still singular, and God has become angry and insulted at the gross rejection of His offer to give people eternity. “Anger” is Strong’s #3710, meaning “to provoke or enrage, i.e. (pass) become exasperated.” IS this anger directed more so toward the twelve tribes of Israel as God is trying to get the 144,000 to fill the empty seats?

Elijah will also be dealing with the multitude no man can number of Revelation 7:9 and 14. The reason no man can number this multitude is not because we run out of numbers. It can’t be numbered because God doesn’t know how many in the end time will reject the calling. So the numbers are yet to be determined. The number of actual humans alive at the end time could very easily be counted.

Revelation 7: 9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;…….14….And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Back to verse 21:

Luke 14:21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things.

God sends Elijah out on another mission: “Go out quickly to streets and lanes of the city”.

“Streets” is Strong’s #4113, and means “a wide plat, or place, i.e. an open square or street.”

“Lanes” is Strong’s #4505: “in original sense, it means an alley or avenue (as crowded), lane, street.”

God is making another effort to get these virgins to repent. Elijah is sent out again to the ten virgins, (the 144,000 Israelites and the innumerable multitude), and probably the heat will be turned up somewhat. The parable doesn’t say this except by showing that God is provoked and enraged at the rejection at His offer of salvation. God will choose the method Elijah will use to go after these virgins again. Remember God’s promises to send the end-time Elijah: Malachi 4:5-6, Matthew 17:10-13, and Luke 1:17. So this second effort will take a certain amount of time, maybe several years, because the virgins are scattered throughout the world.

In verse 22, the job is complete and the servant Elijah reports back to the Father. “It is done as you commanded, and there is still room.” This time God really turns up the heat in verse 23. God is really getting fed up with the attitude of the foolish and disobedient virgins, and things really go bad for them.

Notice in verse 23, the instructions that God gives his servant (Elijah). “Highway” is Strong’s #3598 and means “a road by impl. a progress, (the route, act, or distance), fig. a mode or means…”

“Hedges” is Strong’s #5418 meaning “a fence, or enclosing barrier, (lit. or fig.) hedge…” Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study Dictionary New Testament says of “hedges”: “to fence, a fence, hedge, a thorn hedge around a vineyard, beside which there was often a wall…”

Vines Complete Expository Dictionary says of “hedges”: “denotes any sort of fence, hedge, paling or wall (akin to phrasso, “to fence in, stop”)…” Webster’s definition of “paling” is “a row of upright pointed sticks forming a fence…”

This is very obviously talking of some sort of restraints, a prison situation, if you will. Now, why does God give this servant, Elijah, these instructions? A certain number of years has elapsed since this whole scenario began.

Luke 14:17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

God sent his servant at supper time. This is the final invitation—the equivalent of Matthew 25:6, the cry at midnight, which wakes the ten virgins. The cry at midnight will take some time, maybe quite a few years, since this is a one-man operation, with God calling the moves. Elijah says the things that will make the bride repent and make herself ready:

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

God receives many excuses from the virgins:

Luke 14:18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse.

He then sends His servant, Elijah, on his second mission, to try to salvage all these virgins:

Luke 14:21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

This effort will most certainly take some time, since the sheep are scattered worldwide. But after these two efforts, Elijah reports back to God in verse 22:

Luke 14: 22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

Then God lowers the boom on the disobedient virgins, described in Luke 1:17:

17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Notice there is a disobedient element in this group of people who are made ready for the Lord. This disobedient element has to be turned to the wisdom of the just. They are part of the five wise virgins, but are disobedient when the cry at midnight goes out, and they don’t repent until God puts them in prison camps. He sends Elijah to them just before the resurrection, and may or may not take them to the place of safety.

These disobedient virgins in Luke 1:17 repent and turn to the wisdom of the just. These prison camps may not be as we might think. We would tend to think of them as the World War II variety, like the ones used by the Germans. Because of the massive numbers of prisoners, (if a tithe of Israel is to be saved, which some of the prophecies indicate), whole countries could be considered “prisons.” Assuming 500 million Israelites are alive at the time of the tribulation; this “tithe” could number as many as 40 or 50 million. (There is reason to believe it could be less.) Pick a country in central Europe, put 20 million prisoners in it. The whole country would be surrounded by hostile armies, so where could a prisoner escape to? Elijah will, no doubt, be spending a lot of time in the heat of the tribulation, for he is sent into these prisons (“hedges,” Luke 14:23). Also consider Revelation 7:9,14, the multitude which no man can number wash their robes and make themselves ready in the tribulation:

9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

14 ….And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Go back to Luke 14:24. Who were these people that were bidden and did not taste of the marriage supper? They are the tares that were placed in the church by Satan:

Matthew 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

The tares’ calling is sitting in the church in association with the good seed. The three out of four good seed that go bad also will be excluded from the marriage supper:

Matthew 13:3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: 8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.

Another group that will miss salvation and the marriage supper are the five foolish virgins, who go back to sleep after the cry at midnight awakens them. When the cry at midnight goes out, they are still considered virgins by God:

Matthew 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

What an alarming thought! Half of the true Christians alive at the moment when the cry at midnight goes out will blow their salvation and waste their opportunity at eternity because of spiritual foolishness.

THE TERRIBLE OF THE NATIONS

Today is January 4, 2001 as I start this paper.  This paper is a follow up to “The Physical Creation.”

Some questions that I want to deal with follow:

  1. Who are the Terrible of the Nations?
  1. Why are there the Terrible of the Nations?
  1. The reward of the Terrible of the Nations.
  1. How do the Terrible of the Nations deal with Satan and the demons?

There are many questions that we will deal with in this paper.  There will be much review and revisiting scripture with different thoughts in mind.
