In verse one, God sends Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the governor of Judah and to Joshua the High Priest.
Haggai 1:1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
A few months ago, in the early part of 1998, if you had asked me about Zerubbabel, I would have said he was a type of Christ. As a matter of fact, that’s what my wife did say when I asked her. But is he? Zerubbabel is Strong’s #2216, meaning “descended of (i.e. from) Babylon, i.e. born there.” Now can we apply this to Christ? Not from my mind and mouth would I try to make it apply!
