SATAN’S EXECUTION

What is Satan’s future?  Is he to be tucked away  along with the demons in some far-flung corner of the universe?  Not according to your Bible, he is not.  His future is death, execution by God, not eternal life in some corner of the universe foaming out his shame.  Let’s look at the verses in Jude where the late Worldwide Church of God drew this conclusion from.

Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds [they are] without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

“Spots,” Strong’s #4694, is translated “men” in NAS, NIV, Living Bible Paraphrased, NEB, and Phillips.  Moffat says “people.”   Zodhiates’  Complete Word Study Dictionary (CWSD) says of “spots,” “…fem. Noun. A rock by or in the sea, a cliff or sandbank on which vessels are shipwrecked.  Figuratively of false teachers who, as hidden reefs, cause others to make shipwreck of their faith  (Jude 1:12 [cf. 1 Tim. 1:19] ).”

What are our feasts of charity? Our love feasts?

1 John 5:33 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

If we love God we will keep His commandments. Exodus 20:8 is a commanded love feast:

Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Deuteronomy 16 gives instructions regarding the annual Holy Days.

The word “feeding” truly identifies these people.  It is Strong’s #4165, meaning “to shepherd, tend…In a bad sense, with heauton (1438), himself, to feed or cherish oneself, to take care of oneself at the expense of others (Jude 1:12 [cf. Sept. Ezek. 34:8])…” (CWSD).

This single sentence has been artificially broken into two verses. Notice that it IS just one sentence.  The subject does not change.  “Spots” is the topic being described throughout.

The word “stars” is where WCG jumped to a false conclusion.  It is Strong’s #792.  Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary says, “…of certain false teachers, described as ‘wandering stars,’ Jude 13, as if the ‘stars,’ intended for light and guidance, became the means of deceit by irregular movements.”

Read also what Zodiates’ CWSD adds to our understanding: “Metaphorically, Jude 1:13 speaks of false and impious teachers as star planets, wandering stars, meteors…”

It is abundantly clear that in Jude 1:13 God is talking about human leaders of His people, shepherds, and their boldness which comes from the entrenched hierarchy system.  Their uselessness as teachers is explained by “clouds without water,”  “trees without fruit,” “withered fruit,” in verse 12.  Their sentence is  the blackness of DEATH forever in verse 13.

Paul knew that Satan’s execution was coming:

Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you. Amen.

“Bruise” is Strong’s #4937, meaning to crush completely, i.e., to shatter (lit. or fig.), break in pieces, broken to shivers…   Most other  translations say “crush” rather than “bruise.”  Paul knew that Satan was to be destroyed.

If he knew it, why don’t we? The reason that we don’t know it is because this knowledge has been lost down through the centuries and  there is no  shepherd in the end time to correctly teach this knowledge, as God makes plain in these verses.   The answer is in Ezekiel 34: 5 and 8 which tell us that there is NO SHEPHERD:

Ezekiel 34:5 And they were scattered, because [there is] no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

Ezekiel 34:8 [As] I live, saith the Lord God, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because [there was] no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;

Do the demons know  that they are to be executed along with Satan?

Matthew 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to TORMENT us before the time?

Luke 8:28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, [thou] Son of God most high? I beseech thee, TORMENT me not.

Mark 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, [thou] Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou TORMENT me not.

“Torment” is Strong’s #928.   According to Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study Dictionary,  “torment” in these three verses above refers to PUNISHMENT.   Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary says “to torment…(b) of the doom of evil spirits, Mark 5:7; Luke 8:28…”  The same word is used in Rev. 11:10, referring to the two witnesses’ activities.

Revelation 11:10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets TORMENTED them that dwelt on the earth.

Now, notice in Rev. 11:6,  how these two witnesses TORMENTED, that is, PUNISHED the people who dwelled upon the earth.  They stopped the rain, turned the water to blood, and smote the earth with plagues:

Revelation 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

Now, look at Rev. 14:10, how these people are TORMENTED, that is, PUNISHED:

Revelation 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be TORMENTED with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

For further information on this subject of  PUNISHMENT let’s examine Mark 1:24 and Luke 4:34.  The demons know that their punishment is a death sentence:

Mark 1:24 Saying, Let [us] alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

Luke 4:34 Saying, Let [us] alone; what have we to do with thee, [thou] Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

The word “destroy” is Strong’s #622, meaning to destroy fully (reflex. to perish, or lose), lit. or fig:-destroy, die, lose, mar, perish.   Zodhiates’ Lexical Aids to the Word study NT adds, “In the NT, TO KILL, destroy, whether temporally… or eternally…”

Now reread the two scriptures quoted above.  “Are you come to kill us?”  I repeat, the demons know that they will be executed and that there is a set time for this execution:

Matthew 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to TORMENT us before THE TIME?

“Time” is Strong’s #2540, meaning “an occasion, i.e., set or proper time…” Note that the definite article, “the,” is in the Greek original and also indicates a SPECIFIC time.

We need to go back to the beginning with Satan and see what led up to his downfall.

Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

“Estate” is Strong’s #746, arche.  Strong’s says, “ a commencement…”  Zodhiates says “Other references with the use of arche as a relative beginning: Phil. 4:15, “the beginning of the gospel”; 2 Pet.3:4, “the beginning of the creation”; 1 John 2:7, 24; 3:8,11; 2 John 1:5,6; Jude 1:6…”

“Habitation” is Strong’s #3613.  Vine’s Dictionary says, “a habitation (from ioketer, “an inhabitant,” and oikos, “a dwelling”), is used in Jude 6, of the heavenly region appointed by God as the dwelling place of angels…”

2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast [them] down to hell, and delivered [them] into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

“Hell” is Strong’s #5020, and, according to Zodhiates, means “to consign to Tartarus (which is neither Sheol of the OT, not Hades of the NT, nor Gehenna, nor hell, but the place where certain angels are confined, reserved unto judgement). This punishment for these angels is because of their special sin.”

Rev 9:2,11; Rev 17:8; and  Rev 20:1,3 all show that this bottomless pit is part of this place of restraint.  The earth was the place where Satan and the demons were sent, and apparently confined, after they had left their “first estate” of Jude 1:6.  (A close study of the Bible shows that there is a “spirit” earth as well as a “physical earth.)

Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Job 1:7  And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Job 2:2  And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

God the Father can open and shut this place of restraint at will.

Revelation 9:2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

Satan is the king of this bottomless pit.

Revelation 9:11 And they had a king over them, [which is] the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue [is] Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath [his] name Apollyon.

Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

John was on earth and saw the angel come down from heaven.

Revelation 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

God is showing in the following verses that this place of restraint can be locked and unlocked at His discretion.  Satan will be confined here, away from human contact, for 1000 years.

Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

What happened originally when Satan went bad?  The Bible gives us some information on the subject:

Luke 10:18 And he (Jesus) said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

“Fallen” is Strong’s #5307, meaning “to fall, used in a variety of applications, one of which is to be cast down…”

“Ground” is #776, meaning “the earth…”

“Nations” is #1471, meaning “ (in the sense of massing);… Gentile, heathen, nation, people…”  Refer above to Jude 1:6, “left their own habitation.”  This was a habitation, or abode assigned by God, apparently from the day that the angels were created.  Isaiah 14:12-13 are clearly talking on a spiritual level.  The “nations” (massing) mentioned in verse 12 also have to be used in a spiritual sense.

Job 1:6 and Job 2:1 talk about the day when the sons of God, angels, came to present themselves before the Lord and Satan was among them.  Where did these angels come from?  These verses show that they do not live around the Throne.  Is it not becoming clear that there are “angel nations” (massings) somewhere out in the universe?

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

Job 2:1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

Where did these angels come from?  If they were living in the vicinity of the throne, God would have been in contact with them daily.

Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Verse 13 indicates that greed was taking over.  Satan already had a throne.  He was a ruler.  “Star” is Strong’s #3556, meaning “round or shining, fig. a prince…”  Satan was thinking that he would exalt his throne above the other princes of God.  He would also sit on the “mount of the congregation” in the sides of the north.  Most translations express this phrase as the “mount of the assembly.”  His foolish reasoning was leading him into the most massive sin of all time.  Our human reasoning can do the same thing, only on a smaller scale.

Isaiah 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Isaiah 14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Verse 15 gives us the first hint of Satan’s execution.  “Hell” is Strong’s #7585, meaning “hades or the world of the dead…”

“Pit” is #953, meaning “a pit hole… cistern, dungeon, fountain, pit or well.”  Zodhiates’ Lexical Aid to the Old Testament adds, “the Hebrews conceived of death as a giant pit…”

Isaiah 14:16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, [and] consider thee, [saying, Is] this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

Referring to verse 16, “they that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee,” Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown’s Commentary Practical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible says, “narrowly look– to be certain they are not mistaken.”  These beings doing the looking are the “kings” of Ezekiel 28:17 and Rev. 5:10:

Ezekiel 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Remember, you would have to be a spirit being in order to see Satan. This will be an event not witnessed by humans.

Isaiah 14:13-14 show how the seeds of rebellion are beginning to germinate in Satan’s heart.  Verse 15 describes God’s sentence upon him–confinement to the earth for the present era:

Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Unger’s Bible Dictionary, speaking of Isaiah 14:12-14 under the subject “Lucifer,” page 670, says, “This far-reaching passage goes beyond human history and marks the beginning of sin in the universe and the fall of Satan and the pristine, sinless spheres before the creation of man…”

Now, let’s examine Ezekiel 28:12-19:

Ezekiel 28:12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

Verse 12 starts as though talking to a human, but God quickly changes the focus from human to angelic.  Is this not the same figure of speech  used in Isa. 14:16?

Isaiah 14:16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, [and] consider thee, [saying, Is] this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

The Amplified Bible expresses the last sentence of verse 12 as follows: “You are the full measure and pattern of exactness–giving the finishing touch to all that constitutes completeness–full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.”

Verse 13 describes the beauty, the incredible splendor of Satan:

Ezekiel 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone [was] thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Verse 14 gives part of his job description:

Ezekiel 28:14 Thou [art] the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

Ezekiel 28:15 Thou [wast] perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Verse 15 declares that he was perfect in his ways, his course of life, until evil was found in him.  This is described in Isaiah 14:13:

Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

In verse 16, God starts to reveal the source of the wickedness and iniquity that led to the downfall of Satan and his demons:

Ezekiel 28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

“Multitude” is Strong’s #7230, meaning “abundance…”

“Merchandise” is Strong’s #7404, meaning “trade (as peddled); merchandise, traffic.”

What was this abundance of merchandise, trade, traffic as peddled, that caused him to sin?  Was it the “rebellion” mentioned in Isa. 14:13-14?

Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Satan MUST have been peddling his rebellion in the nations (massing) of angels in order to have taken a third part of the angels with him in his downfall.

Revelation 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Verse 17, Satan was letting vanity get the best of him:

Ezekiel 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

“Brightness” is translated as “splendor” in most of the translations that I checked.

Verse 18 shows that Satan had defiled his holiness as well as the other demons that he had influenced.  Refer also to Jude 1:6:

Ezekiel 28:18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Notice in the last part of verse 18 how the execution of Satan will be accomplished.  This will no doubt be the first time that a being with eternal life is executed.  This mighty God who is supreme above any and all, says with the authority of his word, which he will and can back up, “THEREFORE, I WILL BRING FORTH A FIRE FROM THE MIDST OF YOU AND I WILL BRING YOU TO ASHES UPON THE EARTH IN THE SIGHT OF ALL THEM THAT BEHOLD YOU.”  As God pulls eternity OUT of Satan, he will become a pile of ashes before the kings.  Refer back to Ezek.28:17.  These “kings” are the firstfruits, who are saved.  Read also Rev. 1:6, and Rev. 5:10.

Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Only spirit beings will be able to witness this execution of Satan.

Verse 19 describes the emotions of the saved as they look upon this magnificent being who had corrupted himself and whom God has just executed.  This mighty God, with all the power which he possesses, states in no uncertain terms that Satan shall never be anymore:

Ezekiel 28:19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never [shalt] thou [be] any more.

Zodhiates says that “astonished,” Strong’s # 8074, means “to stun, i.e. to devastate…stupefy, make amazed…astonish, [make] desolate…destroy, [lay] waste, wonder… Amplified says, “shall never return to being.”  NAS says, “and you will be no more.”  NIV says, “and will be no more.”  The Living Bible Paraphrased says, “you are destroyed forever.”  Moffatt says, “there is no future for you.”  The Bible In Living English says, “There is nothing of you forever.

This execution no doubt occurs at the end of the millennium when Satan is cast into the lake of fire.  This is the time referred to in Matthew 8:29:

Matthew 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before THE TIME?

Remember, “time” is Strong’s #2540, meaning an “occasion, i.e., set or proper time…”

Death in the everlasting fire (lake of fire) was originally created for Satan and the demons, as the verse below clearly points out.  Destroying humans is a secondary use of it.

Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS:

Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet [are], and shall be TORMENTED day and night for ever and ever.

“Torment” is Strong’s #928 and was explained earlier in this article to mean “punish,”  with quotes from Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study Dictionary and Vine’s Expository Dictionary.  Review on page two.

At the end of the White Throne Judgment, God will create a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness:

2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

The originator and most monstrous sinner of all time will be executed along with all the demons and every human who is a non-repentant sinner.  Only  the righteous will dwell in the new heavens and earth.  No wonder that Satan “as a roaring lion” goes about “seeking whom he may devour.”

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Satan’s Execution – Part 2

Today is August 26, 2000 as I start adding to this paper.  If you read part one and are willing to believe God’s word, it was shown that Satan will be executed, never to exist any more.

19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

I had wondered as to how God would perform the execution.  It became clear from God’s word last week as I was writing the paper “OUR DELIVERANCE FROM SLAVERY” of one option that God could use.

Let’s start in Rev. 21: 1, there is no more physical at this point.  It is all spiritual.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away-, and there was no more sea.

All the old miseries are gone, verse 4.

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

The rest of the way through chapter 21 the city is described in some breathtaking details to me.  I’m wondering out loud, through this chapter and many other comments scattered throughout the Bible, if what we see in the physical is just a type of what already exist in the spirit realm. There is some bold outright statements that show clearly that many physical things are patterned after spiritual counter parts.

Continuing in Revelation 22:1.

Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Here is the key to understanding one option of how Satan could be executed.

Did you have to look several times at that verse?  Maybe you didn’t get it at all.  I’ve been studying God’s word since 1966, and never got the point till last week.  Matter of fact there may be several points to get. We can only understand what God wants us to.  Without a way to prove it from the Bible, I have always thought of the Father like this. Everything is connected to Him, if He pulled his spirit back all to Himself. Everything would cease to exist in the cosmos.  But I didn’t think that was true on the spiritual level until last week, mid August 2000.

Reread Rev. 22:1.  Notice there is a river of water of life. The word “life” means LIFE.  This water of life is coming from the Throne of the Father and Christ.  Why?  We are spirit being at this point.  No more physical; everything is spirit. If I remember, and understood what the World Wide Church of God taught me all those years, I thought that spirit beings were self existing. If we are self existing, why would there be a need for water of life? Even as a spirit being, we will have to have this water of life for us to continue to exist.

Why would it be written in God’s Holy Word, that it’s water of life, if it is not!  This is just one of the many things that makes me think what we see in the physical is just at type of the spiritual.  Just as physical humans need physical water to drink or ingest.  It is clear that spirit being will have to have this water of life to exist.  What happens if a physical human is deprived of that physical water of life?  We all know that we would die quicker from lack of water than lack of food.  So what happens when Satan and the demons are deprived of this water of life that proceeds from the Throne of The Father and The Lamb?  They will surely die.

Now go to Ezekiel 28:16.  The death sentence is given to Satan.

Ezekiel 28:16  By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, 0 covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

In verse 18, God gives us insight to how it will happen.

The Fire that will come from the midst of Satan and the demons, does it kind of self ignite?  Does the Father just turn off the water of life faucet to Satan and the demons?  If so, do they just kind of self ignite, because of the enormous amount of power they have?

Are Satan and the demons similar to a nuclear power plant?  If I understand the dynamics of a nuclear power plant correctly, once the water source for cooling the reactor is lost or insufficient to keep the reactor cool then a melt down starts.  Is this the way Satan and the demons are executed?  God simply shuts off the supply of living water to these evil being and they just melt down into ashes.  Do Satan and the demon have a core, so to speak?  Is there a tremendous amount of spirit energy, or power store, in the midst any angelic being?  Verse 18, seems to indicate it does and this is were the melt down starts.  I’ve mention several times above, that the demon suffer the same fate as Satan.  Notice how the demons describe this event.

Mark 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God?  I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

‘Torment’ is Strong’s #928 meaning, “to torture-pain…”  In Luke 8:28, torment is the same word.

Luke 8:28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high?  I beseech thee, torment me not.

Look at Matthew 8:29.

Matthew 8:29  And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

“’Time” is Strong’s #2540 meaning, an “occasion., i.e. a set or proper time…”  Again, “torment” is the same word. They know there is a set time for this to happen.

How sad that Satan and all these demons have thrown away their chance to live forever.  Who knows, they could have already existed for millions of years.  The righteous angels surely understand the message here. We humans need to understand that message also. That message IS that God gives us eternal life so that we can live forever. But if any of us go sour on God’s ways a billion years from now, all He will have to do is to cut off our water-of-life supply.  That’s our umbilical cord to the Father, which we will always need.

Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
