THE FAITH ONCE DELIVERED

Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

What is this faith that was once delivered to the saints?  Why should we have to contend or struggle for it?  Is it because of Matthew 25:5?  “While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.”

Has this knowledge been lost in the past, and we end-time virgins are asleep until we receive the cry at midnight?  Can you admit that you have been spiritually asleep.  If you can’t, you can not be in God’s Kingdom, because you are not an end-time virgin because it says that ‘ALL slumbered and slept’.  Let’s take a look at these things and many more.  One point that we can’t get away from, which opens up a ton of understanding, is that the Bible is written for us, the end-time Christians.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for EXAMPLES: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

“Examples” is Strong’s #5179: “a die (as struck), i.e. (by impl.) a stamp or scar; by anal. a shape, i.e. statue, (fig.) style or resemblance; spec. a sampler (‘type’), i.e. a model (for imitation) or instance (for warning).”

Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study New Testament says: “type, as a constituent element of a parable or model of some reality which was yet to appear, a PROTOTYPE of that which was yet to be developed and evolved.”

“Admonition” is Strong’s #3559: “calling attention to, i.e. (by impl.) mild rebuke or warning.”

“World” is Strong’s #165: “prop. an age; by extens. perpetuity (also past); by impl. the world; spec. (Jewish) a Messianic period (present or future):—age, course, eternal, (for) ever (-more), [n-]ever, (beginning of the , while the) world (began, without end).”

So, who should contend for the faith one delivered?  Every end time Christian!  This phrase, “earnestly contend for,” is Strong’s # 1864 meaning “TO STRUGGLE FOR”.  So if we have to struggle for it, it will not be easy.  Who will the struggle be against?

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Our fight is against Satan and his demons, and only against human flesh and blood as Satan and the demon use them against us.  Notice Matt 11:12.

Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

This may be a shocking statement that Jesus Christ made, but it’s the “Faith Once Delivered.”  Starting with John the Baptist, the “Kingdom of God” suffered violence.

“Violence”, is Strong’s #971, meaning to “force, i.e.(reflex) to crowd oneself (into) to be seized…  ”

“Violent,” is Strong’s #973, meaning a forcer i.e. (fig) energetic- violent.”

The phrase “take by force” is Strong’s #726 means “to seize (in various applications) (catch away, up) pluck, pull, take by force.”

Luke 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

The word “presseth” is Strong’s #971, the same as “violence” in Matthew 11:12

meaning “to force”.   The bottom line here is, we have to force our way into the Kingdom, and take our salvation from Satan through the power Christ gives us.

This “Faith Once Delivered” to the saints is found written in the Bible and is what we need in order to obtain salvation.  Everything is there that is needed.  Nothing is missing.  The above principles are a good example of this Faith Once Delivered.

Let’s look at some more examples of this FAITH.  It would be impossible to cover them all in this one paper.   I’ll go through a number of them, and many have been covered in detail in other papers and Bible Studies.

Look at tithing first. Here is what once was delivered.  Compare this with what you do now and have done is the past with your tithes.

(1)Third Tithe:

Deuteronomy 14:28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:

Deuteronomy 14:29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.

THIRD TITHE is to be KEPT in your gates, your possession, and administered from there.  What have you done with yours in the past?

(2) Second Tithe

Deuteronomy 14:25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:

Deuteronomy 14:26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,

Notice it doesn’t say you are to eat 90% of it. You and your family are to eat 100% of this second tithe.

Nehemiah 10:38 And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.

Numbers 18:26 Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.

The tithe of the tithe principle found in Neh. 10:38 and Num. 18:26 was twisted by HWA and WCG and maybe other groups to wring out of us, the members, ten percent of our second tithe.  It is very plain in the two verses above that the Levite was to tithe on his income, which came from the tithes from the rest of the tribes.  The Faith Once Delivered was that EACH FAMILY use the second tithe 100%, not 90%.  That was not the way I was HOODWINKED into doing it for many years.

(3) First Tithe-notice Matthew 24:14 and Luke 19:13.

Matthew 25:14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his GOODS.

Luke 19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, OCCUPY till I come.

What goods did you have delivered to you when you were called?  It was the knowledge of tithing.  God put YOU IN CHARGE OF HIS MONEY.  Tithes, talents & pounds in these two parables means “money” if you care to check the words out.  What have you done with God’s tithe in the past?  If you were like me, you gave it to someone else to spend for you.

THE FAITH ONCE DELIVERED SAYS WE ARE TO SPEND IT OURSELVES.  Notice in Matthew 25:20, it says, “I have gained five talents more,” not, “I and somebody else, some corporate group.”

Matthew 25:20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: BEHOLD, I HAVE GAINED BESIDE THEM FIVE TALENTS MORE.

Luke 19:16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.  This description shows a congregational effort.  Notice the pound gains ten pounds. Look at an example in Acts 15:1-3

Acts 15:1 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

3 And being BROUGHT ON THEIR WAY BY THE CHURCH, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.

Notice in verse 3 that the church brought them on their way.  This phrase “brought on their way,” Strong’s # 4311 means “to send forward, i.e., escort or aid in travel…”  So no doubt a certain amount of tithe money was given to Paul and Barnabas by the congregation to aid them in this mission.  This would be a congregational effort, pound gaining ten pounds, but you as an individual have to have DIRECT INPUT INTO THIS.

What was the “Faith Once Delivered” about Ordaining Elders?  Look at Acts 14:23 the word ordained is Strong’s #5500, meaning “to be a hand-reacher, or voter (by raising the hand), i.e., (gen.) to select or appoint, -choose or ordain.”

Acts 14:23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

Zodhiates’ Lexical Aids to the New Testament says of this word #5500, “to extend, stretch out, to elect or choose to an office by lifting up the hand…”

I have covered this subject of ordaining in a separate paper if you care to study it.  But the fact is the congregation voted on who were to be their elders. Even the Baptist church I grew up in, until I was big enough that my mom couldn’t make me go, voted on who their minister was.  Notice now in 2 Corinthians 8:19 another example of the congregation voting on a person to be used in church service.

2 Corinthians 8:19 And not that only, but who was also CHOSEN of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind:

“Chosen” is Strong’s #5500, meaning “to be a hand-reacher, or voter (by raising the hand), i.e., (gen.) to select or appoint, choose or ordain.”

The churches voted in this situation and Titus was selected.  Notice also that 2 Corinthians 8:16 identifies this as Titus

2 Corinthians 8:16 But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.

Go back to Acts 14:23.  Look at the term “elders”.

Acts 14:23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

“Elders” is Strong’s #4245, meaning, “elderly, older, a senior…”  So the congregation voted on these older, elderly, senior members of the church for whatever the office.

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Christ’s act of giving an office was confirmed by the congregation when they could see the fruits of the Holy Spirit in the elder that they had voted into the office.

Now go to James 5:14.

James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Look at the instruction here.  If we are sick we are to call on the elders to anoint and pray over us.  “Elders” here again is Strong’s # 4245 meaning “elderly, older, a senior…”  Where does is say anything about these elders being ordained ministers?  It simply says older members of the church.   Being OLDER is a prerequisite for ordination.  A ritual of ordination can never confer “instant seniority” upon a youthful ordainee! The only way to get to be a senior is by the passage of time.

That is what the “Faith Once Delivered” says to the saints. The notion that these people had to be ordained ministers has been injected into our minds through false teaching.  The truth is that a member of the church who is senior in age and conversion can anoint.

A study would need to be done on when God considers a human an adult.  The one thought that comes to mind this instant is that the children under 20 years old were the only ones to enter the promise land.  The adults had to die off other than Caleb and Joshua. That came straight from memory; a study will need to be done eventually on that subject.

Let’s look at some more of the “Faith Once Delivered” to the saints.

Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

What does this say?  Is this talking about the Catholics, the Baptists, Lutherans, Methodists, etc.?

No, it’s obvious that this is not talking of Sunday Keepers.  These churches of Satan claim to be Jews (CHRISTIANS). Any one with the Holy Spirit knows that we are Sabbath Keepers, Holy Day Keepers, tithe payers, and all the rest of the things we do as true Christians.  These people “playing church.”  The Synagogue of Satan is right in the midst of the seven churches.  They keep the holy days, Sabbaths, etc. They are the “tares” that Satan puts right in the midst of the good seed.

Matthew 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

We would be very naïve to think that Satan would not put people among those tares who could become “leaders” in the congregations. Their ministers (Satan’s) appear as ministers of righteousness.

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Also the “Faith Once Delivered” to the saints teaches that these “weeds” are allowed to stay right in our midst “playing church” until the end of the age.

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

This “Faith Once Delivered” to the saints, which we are, says we are judged by what is written in the Bible.

Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

If we want to argue with that, we can argue our way right into the Lake of Fire. The books teach us that the true Christians are far outnumbered by the weeds.  Notice Matthew 13:29

Matthew 13:29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

In any given church the tares no doubt would have a root system larger than the good seed have.  This fact is also substantiated by the fact that three out of four of the good seed called go bad.

Matthew 13:3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

This fact also has more support from Matthew 22:14 & Matthew 20:16.

Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Matthew 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

“Many” in both verses is Strong’s # 4183, meaning “much in any respect…”

“Few” is Strong’s # 3641 and means “puny (in extent, degree, number, duration, or value)…”  According to Webster’ Dictionary, “puny” means inferior in strength, size or importance.

Is that what you have always believed, that the numbers saved would be puny compared to the number of people lost?  That is what God’s word says. That is the “Faith Once Delivered”.  It is up to you what you will believe and do. God will not force salvation on anyone. It is a daily choice we have to make.

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

In 2 Peter 3:9 God says He is not willing that any should perish.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Satan has distorted this verse in the minds of many people, so they have the idea that grace covers everything and we can act almost any way we want, fake a repentance and then all is well.

What does this verse really say? Does it say that God has “willed” that none would miss Eternity?  When God “wills” something, it’s a done deal, there is no stopping it.  This verse says that it is God’s attitude, that he desires that no one to miss out on salvation, BUT that he wants us all to repent, which is the first step toward eternity.

What does the Bible teach us about losing salvation even without ever having the Holy Spirit in one’s mind? Judas is one example.  I assume that you know the story.  Will he be resurrected again physically and given another chance?  No Way.  If he were, then you and I could request two chances at salvation and have them. No doubt Judas had spent more than three years with Christ in person. What was the end result of this close experience with the Lord?  Was Judas converted like the other apostles?  No, his fate can be determined from Christ’s own words.  Judas has lost his chance for salvation.

Matthew 26:24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

Another example is found in Revelation 1:7.

Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

This verse tells us that the solders that killed Christ will be resurrected when he returns.   Will they be resurrected to eternal life? Or will they be resurrected to physical life and then be burned in the lake of fire after being tried by Christ?  If they are resurrected in the first resurrection at the return of Christ, they either have to be tares who are resurrected physical or they must be the saints who are resurrected as spirit beings.

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

It’s a done deal.  These soldiers, along with many others of that day who rejected the very Son of God, will be resurrected to physical life and stand before Christ in the Day of Judgment.  If they had not already had their chance for salvation, they would still be in their graves waiting for their first and only chance in the White Throne Judgment.

Matthew 11:22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

This is just one on the many verses that deal with “judgment day.”

Did the tares have the Holy Spirit in them? The “Faith Once Delivered” doesn’t seem to say so.

Notice Matthew 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

Christ tells us in this original “Faith Once Delivered” that the tares’ “calling” occurs while sitting in church with the good seed. In verse 26, notice they are in a close association, and this close association continues until Christ returns.

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

There they are, gathered first, resurrected to physical life, then they are confined (tied in bundles) to be burned.

The “Faith Once Delivered” by Christ and all the authors of the Bible is totally different from what you may have believed in the past.  It certainly was for me as I started to really believe what the Bible said.  Notice what the verse below says.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

This is a COMMAND to you and to me. It is not a suggestion. Here the way Berry’s Greek to English Interlinear translates this verse is, “do not set at naught; all things prove the right hold fast.”  Does God give the average Christian a job to do that is impossible for him or her to do?  Can this command be ignored or taken lightly?  If we do, then doubt will creep in because of not proving these things as we should have done.

Notice the instruction also in Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.   This statement is the foundation of the original “Faith Once Delivered.”

Do you have to be able to work in the original languages of Greek and Hebrew and know how to use these languages like you would English or your native tongue?  This idea comes straight from Satan and sends you straight into the hierarchy system.

This idea that the average person IS NOT CAPABLE of reading and understanding definitions in Strong’s or reading Interlinears in order to make Righteous Judgments with the aid of the Holy Spirit is exactly what Satan wants us to think.  Satan wants us at the mercy of one of his highly educated, so called ministers. They will interpret the Bible for you, and your way to salvation is the road they lay out before you.

Herbert W. Armstrong and his Ambassador College minister mills were a perfect example of this. Did he and his ministers lead us into the Kingdom?  It’s obvious that God smashed that church into OBLIVION.  This should be a witness to us survivors of the Worldwide Church of God that God hates the hierarchy system and will not tolerate it destroying his people.

God expects each individual Christian to put what they are taught under the spotlight of the Holy Spirit and his written word and to “hold fast” what is good. The “Faith Once Delivered” says we are judged by what’s written in the books.

Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

There are many examples written in the books of the false teachers attacking Christians.  Here are a couple of examples.

Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

3 John 1:9 I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.  10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.

Did these people in these examples not “prove all things?”  We need to think about things like this.   “The “Faith Once Delivered”, the written word of God that we are judged from, tells us plainly why the Bible is written the way it is. Notice:

Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Remember I Corinthians. 10:11, the Bible is written primarily for us, the end time Christians.  Review the definition on page 1.  It was written for others before us as they have come in contact with it down through the years and also for others in the end time.  It is a witness from God to them as they come in contact with His Word. Any human can glean good instruction from God’s word if they are willing to do so.

But God states plainly in 1 Corinthians 10:11 that it is written to us.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for OUR admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Notice again Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

This tells us that to a certain group of “end-time” people the Bible will appear complicated and hard to figure out. That thought leads to the idea that we have to have someone educated in the Greek and Hebrew to figure it out for us, thus the hierarchy.

Continuing in Isaiah 28:12:

Isaiah 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: YET THEY WOULD NOT HEAR.

Notice the reason for this.  These are the foolish virgins mentioned in this verse. They are described in Matthew 25:2, And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

“Foolish” is Strong’s # 3474, meaning “dull or stupid (as if shut up), i.e., headless…”

Zodhiates Lexical Aids to New Testament says that this word “moros” (Greek) is where the English word moron comes from.  These foolish virgins received their cry at midnight.

Matthew 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

But Isaiah 28:12 says they would not hear.

Isaiah 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

See. These foolish virgins won’t listen to the cry at midnight, the spiritual truth that wakes them from their spiritual sleep. They won’t accept what God points out to them, the way into Eternal life, the rest, the refreshing mentioned in verse 12.  So it’s plain the foolish virgins reject their chance at eternal life.  They won’t accept what Luke 1:17 says, or Malachi 4:5-6, or Malachi 3:1, or Matthew 17:10-13.

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Notice carefully that there is a disobedient element among the wise in the verse above.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Has the dreadful day of the Lord happened yet?  That makes this an end time prophecy.

Malachi 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

The end time Christians ARE the temple of God.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Matthew 17:10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? 11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. 12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

Notice that there are two Elijah’s described in these verses, one yet future and one past.

The Faith Once Delivered tells us in Isaiah 28:13 that the Bible is written this way so that the people who reject God’s word for whatever reason, reject eternal life and will be destroyed. God has put in writing what will happen to the foolish virgins because they won’t believe and repent.

Isaiah 28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

This word “fall” is Strong’s # 3782 meaning “to totter or weave through weakness of the legs…”

“Backward” is Strong’s #268 meaning “the hinder part, behind, backward…”

“Broken” is Strong’s #7665, meaning “to burst..”

“Snared” is Strong’s # 3369, ” to ensnare, lit or fig…”

“Taken” is Strong’s # 3920, ” to catch (in a net, trap or pit), to capture…”

So what does the “Faith Once Delivered” tell us about the people who refuse what God says in His written word in the verse discussed above?  It is obvious that they will loose salvation.  Remember 1 Corinthians 10:11 says the Bible is written for us the end-time Christians.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

We have a spiritual application of these things.  We are told in God’s written word that the people who refuse to listen will start to weave and totter spiritually, because their spiritual legs are weak.  They will start to go backward spiritually.  They will burst spiritually as they are snared, in Satan’s snare, and they will be taken by Satan.  They will be caught, captured, by Satan and will pay the ultimate price when the resurrection comes.

Read two more verses about what the “Faith Once Delivered” consists of.  This description by Jesus Christ is a long way from what I had heard all my life up until a few years ago when I understood these verses in Luke 19:21 and Matthew 25:24.

Luke 19:21 For I feared thee, because thou art an AUSTERE man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.

Matthew 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an HARD man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

This word “austere” in Luke 19:21 is Strong’s # 840, ” austeros, meaning blown rough (prop., as a gale) i.e. fig. severe.”

The word “hard” in Matthew 25:23, is Strong’s #4642, “skleros, meaning dry i.e. Hard or tough, (fig. harsh, severe) fierce, hard.”

Now notice what Zodhiates Lexical Aids to the New Testament says about Strong’s#4642 “Skleros always conveys a grave reproach indicating a harsh, inhuman character, which is not the case with austeros.”  Zodhiates explains further,  “Austeros is often associated with honor, meaning earnest and severe this is Strongs # 840, BUT NOT SO WITH skleros WHICH ALWAYS CONVEYS A HARSH, INHUMAN CHARACTER…”(emphasis mine).

Zodhiates’ Complete Wordstudy Dictionary New Testament explains: “4642…skleros; fem. sklera, neut. skleron, adj. from skello (n.f.), to harden, dry up. Dried up, dry, hard, stiff; of the voice or sounds as hoarse or harsh; of things as hard, tough, not soft… Of persons as harsh, stern, severe (Skleros always indicates a harsh, brutal character which is not the case with austeros)…”

Also, see Vines Bible Dictionary, p.45 (NT), “Austeros is not necessarily a term of reproach, whereas skleros is always so, and indicates a harsh, even inhuman character…”

John 6:60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard 4642 saying; who can hear it?

Note this is the same Strong’s #4642 found in Mt.25:23.

How will you react to the numerous hard sayings that you will encounter as you receive your “cry at midnight?”  Hopefully not like the disciples above.

This is describing Jesus Christ, our brother if we obey; or our judge, sentencer and executioner if we don’t obey.  Jesus chose to use these particular Greek words to describe Himself in this parable.  Therefore, the aspect of the harsh ruler is not fiction.  Is the Jesus Christ you have always heard of HARSH AND SEVERE?  The concept of Christ that I had in my mind was that His grace covers everything.  I had no concept of Christ being a harsh and severe judge until I encountered these two words and studied them out.

Here again the Faith Once Delivered and written down for the saints upon whom the ends of the age are come, 1 Corinthians 10:11, is a lot different from the concepts that were firmly in my mind from what has turned out to be corrupt sources.

The Faith Once Delivered was written by God’s chosen prophets, apostles, etc. down through the centuries and preserved by God and Christ for us in the Bible we have today.  Most people consider the King James Version being the most accurate.  Most newer versions have deleted thousands of words, even whole verses.

Everything needed for salvation is written down for the end-time virgins including the many prototypes.  Like the one below and they continue to take their toll of God’s sheep.  These men who have crept in and are still in God’s church unawares are mentioned in Jude and are false ministers.

Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

They run these churches of Satan which are right in the midst of the true churches of God. Satan keeps a steady supply of weeds or tares in these churches.  We are warned about them in Revelation 2:9 & 3:9.

Matthew 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

And they out number the good seed, verse 29.

Matthew 13:29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

If they didn’t outnumber the good seed, there would not be much danger of uprooting the good seed if they were extracted.  And this membership of Satan church is also boosted by the fact that THREE out of FOUR of the good seed go bad eventually.  Read carefully the verse below.

This paper could go on and on, but I’ll stop here. I have covered many of these subjects in other papers in more detail and will be covering more in the future and putting them on the internet home page of “Solid Rocks People” and doing Bible studies on many of them.  When studying God’s written word we need to realize that this is the FAITH ONCE DELIVERED TO THE SAINTS.  It is written for us, the end-time Christians.
