1 Corinthians 10:11 is a major key to understanding God’s word:

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

“Examples” is Strong’s #5179: “a die (as struck), i.e. (by impl.) a stamp or scar; by anal. a shape, i.e. statue, (fig.) style or resemblance; spec. a sampler (“type“), i.e. a model (for imitation) or instance (for warning).”

Zodhiates’ Complete Word Study New Testament says: “type, as a constituent element of a parable or model of some reality which was yet to appear, a prototype of that which was yet to be developed and evolved.”

“Admonition” is Strong’s #3559: “calling attention to, i.e. (by impl.) mild rebuke or warning.”

“World” is Strong’s #165: “prop. an age; by extens. perpetuity (also past); by impl. the world; spec. (Jewish) a Messianic period (present or future):—age, course, eternal, (for) ever (-more), [n-]ever, (beginning of the , while the) world (began, without end).”

Failure to believe and accept 1 Corinthians 10:11 is a sure bet that you won’t see Satan coming. We have no permission from God anywhere to pick and choose what we will believe.

James 4:7 says to resist the devil:

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

My wife pointed out back in the summer of 1999 that God has given us a command in this verse that we cannot obey. The first thought that may leap into our minds is, “Oh, I can see Satan coming and resist.” Yeah, seeing him coming in the big things is usually not a problem, for we know when we are being tempted to steal, lie, to commit adultery or fornication. We know when we are being tempted to break the Sabbath by working or doing business, etc.

The big sins involving the 10 Commandments are not the problem. It is in other areas where Satan can strike his deadly blow and take us away toward the lake of fire.  We need to give some thought to 1 Peter 5:8

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

If the lion is roaring, recognizing him is no problem. These are the big items we can recognize easily in relation to the 10 Commandments. Like being tempted to cheat on you income taxes or keeping the money if someone makes a mistake in giving you change while you are shopping.

It is the stalking nature of the lion (Satan) that we have not been able to deal with and there is a reason for that. Matthew 25:5 is true and there are NO exceptions until Matthew 25:6 happens in our lives:

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

We must accept the fact that we have been asleep and that you, or I, or our favorite minister is NOT the exception to the rule. Failing to accept this fact shows what a death grip Satan has on us. God’s word is true. Our reaction (or lack of reaction) to it doesn’t change the truth of any given verse.

Matthew 25:5-6 (above) simply says they ALL slumbered and slept until the cry at midnight came to them. There is a reason for this spiritual sleep and God is responsible:

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: 12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

Does this sound like us today, especially for the left over Worldwide Church of God people? God let Satan put us to sleep and He will wake us up with spiritual truth—with the cry at midnight, through the end-time Elijah. Luke 1:17 says Elijah is the only one who can make ready a people prepared for the Lord:

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Notice that the problem in Amos 8:11 is one of HEARING the word. Does this tell us that the true virgins are getting just enough spiritual food to keep breathing, spiritually, by reading God’s word? Have you ever been studying the Bible and some point of truth just seemed to jump out at you?

The reason for the famine of hearing the word is shown in Ezekiel 34:5 & 8, which tell us that there are NO SHEPHERDS:

Ezekiel 34:5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered. 6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them. 7 Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD; 8 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;

Does this sound like us today, especially the descendants of the WCG? Are these verses true? If not, God is a liar and we have no salvation anyway. The last part of verse 8 shows us that even the shepherds who God will eventually claim (after they wake up and repent) are still asleep at this point and are not getting the job done.

You may be thinking that this applies to other people in some other age. I ask you again, who is the Bible written for?

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world [age] are come.

Is God a liar or not? Why can’t we simply believe what He says?

Here is an unseen tactic that Satan uses. God’s word makes a plain statement—like “there are no shepherds in the end time”—and Satan immediately injects the thought that this applies to some one else in some other time.

This is a tactic we have to become aware of. It is very easy for Satan to attack us like this because of the way that God has written the Bible:

Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. 13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

God has written the Bible this way for several reasons. Two of these reasons are that we must: (1) learn to make righteous judgments and (2) rightly divide the word of truth.

Back to Ezekiel 34. Is this an end-time chapter or not? If you came through the WCG system, is verse 2 true today?

Ezekiel 34:2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

Did you ever go to church expecting to be fed and come home hungry? What about verse 3? Is this true?

Ezekiel 34:3 Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.

Did you ever confront a minister with a point of real truth only to have him reject it? If you insisted, he would put you out of the church. It has happened to me, personally.  Look at James 5:14.

James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

“Elders” is Strong’s #4245. It means “older; as a noun, a senior…elder (est), old…”

Now what is the instruction here? Will we simply believe God’s word and resist the thoughts that Satan puts in our minds? James 5:14 simply says that if you are sick, you should call on THE SENIOR MEMBERS of the church. They will pray over you and anoint you with oil—the prayer of faith will save the sick. VERSE 15 SAYS NOTHING ABOUT THESE OLDER, SENIOR MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH BEING MINISTERS.

This happened to a man I know and his wife. They were on the way home from the Feast of Tabernacles (FOT) several years ago. She got sick, her husband anointed her and she got better. The leader of their group heard of it and came down hard on the husband.  This caused them to separate from that group.

Now, are these fulfillments of Ezekiel 34:3 or not?

Ezekiel 34:3 Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.

It’s no problem for Satan to imitate a healing. He or one of his demons can cause a health problem.

Luke 13:11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. 12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. 13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God…..16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

Satan certainly has ministers for doing anointing:

2 Corinthians 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also betransformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Now, continuing in Ezekiel 34:4:

Ezekiel 34:4 The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.

If you were a member of the WCG for many years like my wife and me, (we both started attending in the 60’s) you know that force and cruelty were used to control the flock, and are still being used today. Any truth that you or I came upon could not be shared unless it was approved by church headquarters in Pasadena, California.

In the example of anointing and healing above, didn’t the minister react with force and cruelty? The examples of force and cruelty could go on and on, but the purpose of this paper is to recognize Satan’s and the demon’s attacks in our lives.

Could this minister’s reactions to something perfectly legal in God’s sight be considered Godly? Was this reaction of God or of Satan?

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

You need to study the whole chapter of Ezekiel 34. Notice in verse 10 that these “NO SHEPHERDS” are going to be facing unemployment:

Ezekiel 34:10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.

Verses 12-14, 23-28 all give this an end-time and millennial setting.

Ephesians 6:12 gives us more information on what we are fighting. Wouldn’t it be so much easier if we could see these attacks coming?

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

These “powers” and “rulers of the darkness” use flesh and blood humans to bombard us with attack after attack. Their goal is to cause us to destroy ourselves.

But God hasn’t allowed us the luxury of seeing these attacks coming, so we have to go with what He has given us. We must rightly divide the word of truth. We must reject anything that is not God’s true word. If it has a slant or twist, it is not the accurate word of God and we must reject it. The senior lay member of the church did what God says he can legally do—he anointed someone.

A question should be asked.  Why did this so-called representative of God not rejoice that a lay member was able to anoint and pray the prayer of faith answered by God’s healing? Why shouldn’t this “minister” be happy for someone who can anoint and have God heal in answer to their prayer? Does he feel threatened in his hierarchy position? You bet they do!

Let us look at the Adam and Eve account. Notice in Genesis 3:1 how Satan approached this:

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Satan knew that God had given them permission to eat of all the trees except the one in the midst of the garden:

Genesis 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

A similar situation exists today. Notice how Satan has approached it. Let me put words in Satan’s mouth as he deceives our minds. Here are instructions from God to the end-time Christians:

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Satan says to our minds, “Hath God said there is a great commission to do, going into all the world to teach and baptize? Hath God said there is an end-time harvest to gather in Revelation?”

Revelation 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands………14….And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Notice in Revelation 7:1-3 that the tribulation is held up. Notice in verse 4 that the 144,000 are ISRAELITES.

The 144,000 of Revelation 7 are different from the 144,000 of Revelation 14, who come from ALL nations. Notice verses 3 and 4: they come from among men and were redeemed from the earth:

Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads……3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

Notice Eve’s (the Church’s) answer:

Genesis 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

God has given us a job and told us how to do it:

Revelation 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

What will we accomplish?

Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

God has shown us how to finance it. When we’re called, we have “goods” delivered. In Matthew 25:14, goods=money.

Matthew 25:14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

“Talents” is Strong’s #5007: “a balance (as supporting weights), i.e. (by impl.) a certain weight (and thence a coin or rather a sum of money) or ‘talent’…”

Notice also in Luke 19:13 that His servants (we) are called and given money. It is actually called “money” in verse 15:

Luke 19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. 14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. 15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

We are told in verse 13 to “occupy.” This is Strong’s #4231: “to busy oneself with.”

So we say to the serpent, “See, God has given us a job, with a job description, and the money to do it with. He has also instructed us to do it individually.”  Read my paper on tithing.

Review the definition of “occupy” above and also notice Matthew 25:20: I have gained 5 talents more.” Not “I and some corporate group…”

Matthew 25:20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

What is Satan’s comeback as he subtly plants a thought in our minds? “Oh, but there is more strength in numbers. We can pool our money and accomplish more.”  You know, the big corporate group. Satan will pressure these thoughts: “With many millions, we can reach every corner of the earth.”  This sounds appealing to the average end-time virgin mind. “Hey, I pay tithes, write the check, put it in the mail box and I’m done with it other than praying and asking God to bless it.”

What did the men in the parables of the talents and pounds get for not following instructions?

Matthew 25:28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

Luke 19:24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.

They got the lake of fire. It can’t be overstressed in the end time that we have to follow God’s written instructions. Don’t forget 1 Corinthians 10:11—it means what it says. Review definitions on page one.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

The two unprofitable servants in the parables of the talents and pounds lost their salvation for not using God’s money wisely, not for stealing tithes:

Matthew 25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

Luke 19:20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:

They tithed, but did not follow the rest of the instructions. So it is with us. We have to be like Samuel:

1 Samuel 3:19 And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

So we need to look for the thoughts that Satan will inject into our minds to make us twist God’s instructions a little. He will try to make us apply the instructions in a way that we like, to ease the strain that some of God’s instructions may put on us. Satan will influence our human reasoning to the breaking point if we will let him.

Another area Satan tricks us in the end time is regarding a woman’s place in the church. He uses the hierarchy system and twists scripture, causing us to read something into a verse that is not there. The verse I am referring to is 1 Corinthians 14:34. No one can argue the point that a woman is not to teach in a formal church service.  Read my paper on the woman’s place in the church.

1 Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

So with Satan’s subtle influence on our minds, we can carry this to an extreme that puts us in conflict with other clear instructions of God. Notice Acts 8:3-4. Where is the “men only” instruction here?

Acts 8:3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. 4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

Notice this is referring to the church in verse 3—men and women. Notice in verse 4, they (the church, including women) were preaching the word. “Preaching” is Strong’s #2097 meaning, “to announce good news (‘evangelize’) espec. the gospel…”

What about Daniel 12:1-3. Is verse 1 not talking about the great tribulation and verse 2 the first resurrection?

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

In verse 3, they turn many to righteousness. Does this not include women? Show me where there is a gender distinction that says, “men only.”

Satan would have all the women suppressed in the church, but God will not. Will you believe the thoughts that Satan puts in your mind or will you believe what God’s word actually says?

What about the parables of the talents and pounds? “Servants” in both parables is Strong’s #1401 meaning, “a slave...” Won’t there be female slaves gaining 5 talents (Matthew 25:20) and two talents (Matthew 25:22)?

Matthew 25:20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. 21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

Show me the gender distinction here. Will you believe God’s written word or the thoughts that Satan plants in your mind himself or through the teaching of others? Again, I ask you—will we simply believe God’s word or will we allow Satan to twist it? Review James 5:14.

James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

The instructions are clear: if you are sick, call on the elders for anointing. “Elders” is Strong’s #4245. It means “older; as a noun, a senior…elder (est), old…” Where does the Bible say that this “elder” has to be an “ordained” minister? It’s almost guaranteed that that none of us who have come through the WCG system would think of asking someone to anoint us who was NOT an ordained minister. This shows us how Satan has put us to sleep with his version of perverted scripture.

Why can’t we simply believe what God says? The hierarchists use this perversion of God’s word to keep us under their control. This could go on and on. We’ll just look at one more example.

Paul and Barnabas were traveling. Paul had been stoned and left for dead:

Acts 14:19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. 20 Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, 22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

Apparently, Christ resurrected or protected Paul (verse 20). In verse 21, the cities they visited are named.  Notice in verse 23 what they were doing—they ordained elders. Did they do it the way Satan would have us believe—the way we have seen it done all those years in the WCG?

“Ordained” is Strong’s #5500 meaning, “(to stretch); to be a hand reacher or voter (by raising the hand)…”

“Elders” is Strong’s #4245. It means “older; as a noun, a senior…elder (est), old…”

So what is the simple truth of these verses? Paul and Barnabas oversaw the ordaining (setting apart) of older, senior members of the church. They were to take care of the needs of the local group. The congregation voted, by raising their hands, on who would be selected as elders. Who would know better than the local congregation? They could judge the elders by their fruits.

The bottom line here is that if your local congregation did not vote in your leaders, they are not of God. Again I ask, will you believe God’s word or will you believe what you have been taught by the late Herbert W. Armstrong and his church built on sand? The purpose of Ambassador College was to train ministers—how absurd! How insane! These AC minister mills were grinding out 22 years old SENIORS—ELDERLY ministerial trainees! Again I ask, will you believe God’s word or Satan? How do you go to college and learn to be older? This wisdom only comes with time and experience. I use the example of the WCG here because I do not know the process in other churches for raising up elders.

Turn to Numbers 22. Consider a prototype God has written for us. Balak was the king of the Moabites. This can very well be a message to the end-time Christians on their way into the Promised Land. Satan has his ways in Numbers 22:6. Balak tries to hire Balaam to curse the Israelites:

Numbers 22:6 Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed.

Notice in verse 12 that he was told not to curse the Israelites, for they are blessed:

Numbers 22:12 And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed.

This is an important verse for us, for if you are an end-time virgin with God’s Holy Spirit, you are blessed. That’s a key to seeing Satan’s hand in our lives in the future.

To make a long story short, Balaam wasn’t allowed to curse Israel because they were blessed. We, the end-time virgins, are in the same situation. We can’t be cursed because we are blessed by God. Remember 1 Corinthians 10:11—the Bible is written for us, if we follow its instructions.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

The Israelites were on the way to the Promised Landso are we, after we wake up at the cry at midnight:

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

But Satan has a way of getting at us on our way to the Promised Land and it is written as a prototype for us. It’s the way he got our forefathers, the ancient Israelites. Balaam could not curse the Israelites because they were blessed. Satan can’t curse us because we are blessed—but he can trick us into cursing ourselves. Notice how he did it to Israel:

Numbers 31:16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

“Peor” is Strong’s #6465 meaning, “a gap; Peor, a mountain E. of Jordan; also a deity worshipped there…”

Numbers 25:1-2 tells us how the Israelites started to curse themselves. When we start to curse ourselves, God will move to correct us:

Numbers 25:1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. 2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.

The Israelite men started to commit whoredoms with the daughters of Moab. This brought the curse on them that Balaam could not pronounce.

Are we willing to see Satan coming in the end time and not curse ourselves? If you have the Holy Spirit, you are blessed and will have to destroy yourself. The Pergamos church is clearly warned about this:

Revelation 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

This warning is for all of us who have the Holy Spirit in the end time. Notice the first part of Revelation 2:17. Will we have ears to hear?

Revelation 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

We curse ourselves in the end time by committing fornication with other churches—the church of Satan that we are warned about in Revelation:

Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

These churches (people) of Satan will be right in our midst and will closely resemble the true virgins.

Matthew 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

This synagogue (church) of Satan that is in the midst of the 7 true churches in the end time will not be separate congregations. There will be people who are playing church in each true group of virgins. They will try to dominate the true Christians through various methods that Satan will inspire. 3 John 1:9-10 describes the synagogue of Satan in action. The Philadelphians are warned about this synagogue of Satan in Revelation 3:9.

3 John 1:9 I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. 10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.

Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

If we submit to anything they try to influence us with, we will be committing spiritual whoredom with this church of Satan just as the ancient Israelites committed whoredoms with the neighboring Moabites. We have to stick to the pure word of God. If the Bible says it, believe it regardless of the pressures put on us by the church of Satan.

So it is important to us as end-time virgins to locate this end-time Elijah. He is the only one who can make ready a people prepared for the Lord:

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Notice Luke 1:17 doesn’t say there are two, or three, or a corporate group. Just one name is given.

It also is important to us to follow God’s word—His instructions to us personally—or Satan will take us away. Philippians 2:5 & 12 apply to us directly:

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Now for some things to watch for in our day-to-day lives as Satan and his demons try to make us curse ourselves. He will set up an endless string of situations to try to cause you to sin—things that cause you to become angry and lose your cool like Moses did.

Moses was told by God to speak to the rock in the second instance, not to strike it. However, he lost his cool, became angry and hit the rock twice, losing the opportunity to enter the physical Promised Land. That is a perfect example of how Satan can trip us up. Our loss of the Promised Land will be our loss of eternal life. It is very easy to see how Moses did this, with Satan and his demons sitting on the shoulders of the Israelites, doing their talking for them.

Have you ever noticed hostility in a mate, family member, friend or acquaintance when there was absolutely no reason for hostility to exist? This is the influence of Satan or a demon on that person, trying to trick you into becoming angry and sin, thereby cursing yourself.

If you have a weakness for the opposite sex, Satan and his demons will set up situations for you to be alone with members of the opposite sex, thereby opening the door for you to commit fornication or adultery, and thereby cursing yourself.

A common thing that I have experienced many times is for mechanical things to malfunction. Since I am a very poor handy man, this has set up many instances for me to become angry and react in a way that could cause me to sin. In hindsight, I can see that this has been going on for a number of years, but it was just this summer, 1999, that God finally gave me the ability to see and deal with these demons. If we can see Satan coming, we can resist him.

There are too many examples of this to try to repeat, but I’ll just give you one that happened at this Feast of Tabernacles, 1999. We were staying at the Super 8 Motel in Winter Park, Colorado. The hotel room doors have card keys with magnetic strips. Amazingly,  my key wouldn’t work. After about 12 or 15 unsuccessful attempts to unlock my door, I was getting a little upset. This was on Friday, the day the FOT began at sunset.

So I had the manager come to my room. He took the card key and tried it—it worked perfectly every time. So I entered the room, did whatever I was doing and went back out. When I came back later to get back into my room, the card key would not work for me. After 8 or 10 tries, it finally dawned on me—this is a demon trying to upset me. So I commanded the demon in the name of Jesus Christ to get out of there and the card key worked perfectly the first time.

I had no more problems until near the end of the Feast when I had to take the key to the front desk to have it recharged. The desk clerk said after so many uses, those keys “run out of gas.”

If you have animals, they can be used to cause you to become angry and sin, thereby cursing yourself. I’ve had many instances with our horses that caused me to get angry. The most recent was just this past Sabbath, October 9, 1999. Just notice if your animals are acting out of character, and if it causes you to become angry or upset, you can know for sure that a demon is making an assault on you to try to make you sin. Rebuke the demon in Christ’s name and watch the change.

My older daughter had an experience just this past summer with the neighbor’s dog. Even though we live in the mountains, neighbors are usually nearby in subdivisions. In my daughter’s case, the dog is less than 200 feet away. On this particular occasion, her neighbor’s dog barked pretty consistently until late in the night and she could get very little sleep. She finally realized that it could be a demon, so she rebuked it in Christ’s name and the dog shut up instantly.

Consider the other scenario that could have happened. Well, she could have created a full-blown neighbor war and thereby cursed herself. The neighbor is totally ignorant of demons and their actions and intentions. If we can see Satan coming, we can deal with him through the Holy Spirit. If we can’t see him and his demons, we are totally helpless and will do the things to curse ourselves.

Satan and his demons can influence us in a situation that might be a minor problem by turning it into a major one. They simply have to set up the circumstances. For instance, a man or woman who has a weakness for alcohol can have tremendous mental pressure to put them in a bar, liquor store or party. We have to become aware of what we are confronting and then we can deal with it. As the end-time virgins wake up, Satan will be turning the pressure up on us to cause us to curse ourselves. There probably is not an aspect of our lives he cannot interfere with.

He can cause us to forget to pay bills on time or cause others who might owe us money to forget to pay it. Health and affliction are a big and devastating area where we can be assaulted. That is why there will be senior members of the church to anoint us. Notice a few examples:

Matthew 9:32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

Matthew 12:22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

Matthew 15:22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil…..28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Matthew 17:15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water…..18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

A main source of problems will be right in our own households as Satan causes a mate, child or parent to do things that will cause us to get upset and sin, bringing a curse on ourselves.

Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.

We need to get on a crash course toward seeing and recognizing Satan and these demons. God is the only one who can give us this ability. It is going to be a constant fight on our way into the Kingdom—pray and resist. Ask God to give you the ability to see these attacks in your particular situation. As each life is different, so will be the opportunities for Satan to attack us.
